DS was a week short of 1y
DD1 was 11mo
DD2 was about 13mo

They walk when they are ready, and if she was premature it does not sound remotely worrying that she is not walking at 16mo.

My friend's DD was 19mo and not walking; she just couldn't be bothered! She is a perfectly normal 12yo now.

If you are concerned, speak to your HV, but I'm sure she will set your mind at rest.

Ds army crawled from 8 months, didn't crawl properley until 11 months
Ds took his first step a week before his 1st birthday.
The he decided he preferred crawling again.

A month later he was up and away.

Its been a nightmare ever since Wink .

Bonkerz · 09/08/2012 22:11

Ds1 was 1 year and 3 days
Dsd was 11 months
Dd was 14 months and ds2 is now 15 months and only just taking upto 5 steps freely.

Flisspaps · 09/08/2012 22:12

DD was the day before she turned 10 months.

Sirzy · 09/08/2012 22:12

16 months, about a month after he started crawling

EugenesAxe · 09/08/2012 22:12

DS took first independent steps on 16 month birthday. I think he 'properly' crawled around 10 months.

Nuttyprofessor · 09/08/2012 22:13

8 months, 11 months and 14 months.

PissyDust · 09/08/2012 22:13

DD3 was 16 months lazy bugger

Tommy · 09/08/2012 22:13

all 3 of mine were 14m

LittleMilla · 09/08/2012 22:15

cruising at 7/8 mo. Proper unaided walking at 12 mo.

Sore back for four months due to hand holding!

BlackOutTheSun · 09/08/2012 22:15

DD started crawling at 7 months, was walking by 11 months

Both my nephews missed out crawling and started walking by 24 months

They do it when they are ready Smile

MoreBoober · 09/08/2012 22:15

My DS was 13 months for walking but is 19months now and still not talking! Sad

NoWayNoHow · 09/08/2012 22:16

DS was 14 months old to the day.

Inyourhippyhat · 09/08/2012 22:17

DS - 12 months, DD1 - 15 months, DD2 - 10 months

FunnysInLaJardin · 09/08/2012 22:19

DS1 walked by 14 months but was crawling by 11 months.

DS2 walked at 9 months and could crawl at 7, but that was just ridiculous Grin

DS1 would never bear weight on his legs as a baby, they would just crumble, but DS2 could bear weight almost straight away from a month or so. Just depends on their nature really. My sister wouldn't walk at 18 months but was speaking in sentences!

Melindaaa · 09/08/2012 22:19

My premature babies started walking right before they were two. A 18 months they had just started crawling/moving and I thought the was no way they would be on their feet by their second birthday, but they did it.

Nat38 · 09/08/2012 22:21

DD1 was 22 months old when she started walking-15 months old when crawling!!Smile
DD2 was 11 monthsShock when she started walking-she seemed far too small to walk after dd2 was 22 months!!Grin
I think they will walk when they are ready & not before!!WinkGrin

nosleepwithworry · 09/08/2012 22:21

11 months

ISpyJumpHigh · 09/08/2012 22:21

DS took some independent steps at 10 months, walking at 11 months.

Agree with PPs - they do it in their own time Smile.

propercharlie · 09/08/2012 22:22

DS was an early one - sat at 5m, crawled at 7m and was properly walking unaided by 9m.

rhetorician · 09/08/2012 22:23

DD1 crawled at 11 months, walked at 16/17. Completely normal

newbielisa · 09/08/2012 22:27

DD could do it at 11 months but didn't properly till 13 momths.
DNiece was 18 months before she crawled, she just wasn't interested. Now at 2.5 she tears the place up

akaemmafrost · 09/08/2012 22:27

Ds was pulling himself up at 9 months, walking by 10. He skipped crawling entirely. We found out later that he has ASD, dyspraxia and hypermobility and were told that missing the crawling stage can be a sign of developmental disorders.

Dd almost exactly the same but she did crawl for a couple of weeks.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 09/08/2012 22:28

They were all confidently walking by their first birthdays, but to offset it both DSs talked very late (didn't need to talk as they could just go get what they wanted) DD did both early and hasn't stopped moving or chatting since

NapaCab · 10/08/2012 05:31

Phew! You've all set my mind at rest Grin

My DS is just gone 10 months and still only army crawling, not pulling up fully (only halfway), cruising or anywhere close to walking yet. I've been feeling a little paranoid about it since there's a baby his exact age in our mother's group who's been walking with help since 8 months. I keep telling myself, he'll do it in his own time etc but this age coming up to 1 is stressful because there are so many important milestones like this!
