the head mistress called me at work to 'discuss' an incident yesterday afternoon. It was 'ladies chest parts'

i thought that she'd have encountered this sort of thing before and didn't think it was that serious. Now do you think she is somewhat over reacting or should i take it a bit more seriously

ds said he typed in boobies

This made me laugh.

Age 10 I had to have a "conversation" with DD and her friend.

They denied all knowledge.

Zak Efron naked wasn't something I'd googled I can assure you Grin

They all do it

A perfectly normal 9 year old you have there OP. Grin
Ok the school probably wanted to make you aware of the situation but surely it could have waited until you collected him from school?

The fact that the HT rang you at work to inform you makes it out to be more serious than it actually was if you get my drift.

Is there a 9 year old boy (or girl) who has not googled "boobies"?

SandStorm · 26/03/2011 11:04

I caught my 8 year old googling 'naked lady gaga' the other day Blush.

I think it was OTT to call you at work - a quiet word at school pick up would have been enough IMO.

Onetoomanycornettos · 26/03/2011 23:04

Normal to have googled it, normal for the school to tell you about it and tell him off, it's not acceptable behaviour at school. My two younger ones have googled things like 'poo, wee, bum' but luckily our software blocks it and it's all there on the history...

freshmint · 26/03/2011 23:10

my friend's 11 year old was caught out by her school's net nanny a while ago. Her friend's great dane was having a litter and she wanted to see what they would be like. So she googled "big puppies"... and got a whole load of pictures of women with breast enlargements like footballs... Grin

actually she was a bit traumatised!

Well it's Not Acceptable and a bit naughty for DC to do this (while being perfectly normal for them to a) be interested in bodies and developing a degree of sexual curiousity at 9 years old and b)to be doing a little bit of boundariy pushing and sneaking around), but making a fucking massive big deal of it will do far more damage than just telling them not to do it again.

Thornykate · 26/03/2011 23:47

I am most concerned that a headteacher doesn't feel able to say breasts. It's not a swear word.

Your son must be mortified now poor kid.

ShortArseFuck · 27/03/2011 08:30

Just be glad he didn't google dragon butter.

Grin Wink
