When you were a child/teen what did you want to call your future children?

I know that not everyone thought about this when they were a child but if you did what names did you love then, and did you use them?

GinaDavies I DID use a Home and Away name, Chloe called her baby Olivia and I loved it from there. Don't admit that very often in RL though

I adored the name Dale as a teen but as I have been eternally blessed to always have a D starting surname, felt it wouldn't quite go

Heavenly or Amber for a girl.

Ethan for a boy.

Have a ds, his name is not Ethan.

ChunkyBrewster · 03/06/2010 13:58

When I was five - Dolly Partner or Pollyanna
As a teenager - Galadriel or Louise

I think I hated the name of my DD when I was younger, funnily enough.

Wordsonascreen · 03/06/2010 14:02

Starr for a girl (after the drippy hippy in The Lost Boys)

Tate for a boy (no reason just thought it was uber cool)

bobbiewickham · 03/06/2010 14:15

Bethany for a girl, and I remember being gutted when my sister nicked it.

I liked Daisy, too.

And Juillet

Jared or Jeddeth for a boy.

Still quite like Jared.

Never used any of them.

I blame the 80's, but after my Mum refused to let me change my name to Tracy or Denise, I was insistant that it would be my childs name, as thought they were very cool
Didn't think at that age that there was a 50/50 chance of having a boy, in my head I'd only ever have a girl.

Did not use either, but do only have a DD, so I was right about that!

Butterpie · 03/06/2010 14:24

Joseph and Mary

Although come to think of it, DD1 is Marianne, so maybe I subconciously remembered...

MagalyZz · 03/06/2010 14:35

I liked Lydia and Marcus, which I still really like. I couldn't use either though, for different reasons.

The worst names I liked were when I was pregnant. Dahlia! Good grief. What was I thinking. ALso Freesia. Until I realised I was getting confused between the cow and the flower. But I had some really hideous ideas....

MagalyZz · 03/06/2010 14:38

Fluffles, lol at Sylvia and Goldia. coooool (this is the 14 year old part of my brain saying cool)

CheeseChomper · 03/06/2010 15:03

When I was a child it was either Shannon or Jade.

As a teenage i'd moved onto more chavtastic names (only thought of girl names though). My girls were going to be called:

Ashleigh-Jaye Mariah
Crystal
Destiny

I'm 6 weeks pg or so now with my first, and I can safely say that those names will NOT be featuring on my list! I such a chavvy 90s teen!

ellesabe · 03/06/2010 15:05

Mark and Chloe

LadyWellian · 03/06/2010 15:19

Had an elaborate game as a teenager with a few friends where we planned (theoretically) to repopulate the world using a gene pool only made up of our 6th-form mates and doing our best to avoid interbreeding. Of course all the hypothetical children needed names. Macbeth and Acid were two I recall, although my personal favourites were the twins, Welwyn and Hatfield. Never used them, of course, though might do in the future with cats!

LadyWellian · 03/06/2010 15:22

Was mortified next time I saw Brookside after giving birth to DD and realising we had given her the same name as Rachel Jordache's baby... (or Jordache copied us, more like.)

NotSoRampantRabbit · 03/06/2010 15:24

Brian

mazzystartled · 03/06/2010 15:25

Stella and Roman
(pretentious, moi?)

posieparker · 03/06/2010 17:23

There is nothing pretentious about Roman, I have one.

funkychunkymunky · 03/06/2010 17:29

My mum had my baby brother when I was only 7. When she asked me what I wanted to call the baby I said:

  • Pebbles for a girl
  • Bambam for a boy.
I really liked the Flintstones! Turns outh that he plays the drums so Bambam would have been apt!

I called all my dolls Sally or Katie.

funkychunkymunky · 03/06/2010 17:29

kimbles1984 · 03/06/2010 17:33

as a child i had imaginary twin children called Jamie and Elise, and as a teenager i was adament that my future children were to be named Atlanta Dreamer (girl) and Joshua Clayton (boy) so glad i didnt have a baby girl in my teen years

mazzystartled · 03/06/2010 17:35

it is when you are 15 and live in Stoke, posie.....

kimbles1984 · 03/06/2010 17:38

*adamant

robie · 03/06/2010 17:55

I liked the names Trixibelle Victoria Cassandra Scarlet and Laetitia when I was 10.
Thankfully I didn't have DD's til my 30's

brennannbooth · 03/06/2010 17:58

Anna and Hazel and Thomas. Still love all those names but Anna doesn't work with our surname and Hazel doesn't "go" with other DC's names now and DH isn't keen on Thomas and DB and SIL have dibs on it anyway.

crumpet · 03/06/2010 18:00

Catriona (but, importantly, not spelled Katrina)

MPuppykin · 03/06/2010 18:02

Sage, Paisley and Ezekiel.

I still like Ezekiel. DH is not having it.
