Digby?

It may be the hormones/ insomnia talking but I think I may like the name Digby .

DH and I both like the whole old name thing and have been pretty settled on Wilbur for a while now but I am suddenly having a wobble!

What do you think?

I think if you were up for Wilbur, then Digby is fine (they are from the same sort of genre to me).

I love Digby! Don't like Wilbur nearly as much, but Digby is fantastic.

MrsKitty · 28/01/2010 03:44

Stick with Wilbur.

Momdeguerre · 28/01/2010 08:04

Thank you, so far I am still on the fence! My DS has helped a little - said the name to him and he is nowshouting 'Diggidy-dog' which I am not keen on!

Mumcentreplus · 28/01/2010 08:38

llareggub · 28/01/2010 08:43

I've always like Digory. Or is it is Diggory? From the Magician's Nephew.

myfirstbump · 28/01/2010 08:56

Ooh! I forgot about Digby! Years ago it was on my list of 'boys names I like the sound of'. Two of those names are on our shortlist, and I completely forgot to float Digby with DH!

Thanks for the reminder, I think it's a fab name!

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/01/2010 09:08

well I'm sure I'd raise my eyebrows if I actually met one, but I do think it's kind of cute.

Also like diggory as a similar alternative, and at least that doesn't have the doggy connection.

Drusilla · 28/01/2010 09:09

If I heard someone talking about Digby, I would assume it was a labrador Wilbur is great though.

frasersmummy · 28/01/2010 09:11

I have never commented on a name thread before

but I saw this and thought oh my god digby is a big shaggy dog..

think of the playground

SilentBob · 28/01/2010 09:12

I have a friend with a Digby, it's a fabulous name!

mumoftoomany · 28/01/2010 09:35

I like Digby and prefer it to Wilbur.

Sunshinemummy · 28/01/2010 09:43

I like both.

theagedparent · 28/01/2010 12:47

There used to be a big psychiatric hospital around here called Digby hospital, so when I was a kid it was used as an insult [not by myself] "you're such a Digby".
Much prefer Wilbur.

Biggest dog in the world

Or Vicar of Dibley

BalloonSlayer · 28/01/2010 12:53

wasn't wilbur the pig in Charlotte's Web?

TheBossofMe · 28/01/2010 12:56

Unless you want his nickname to be "the biggest dog in the world", don't even go there.

Not wild about wilbur either, though. Sorry. Both sound like pet names to me.
