Here are mine

I love Xanthe for a girl but I'm about as Greek as a teapot.
I also loved Brianna for a girl but then I googled it and a pornstar came up!!!

Tortington · 17/02/2010 15:14

ezekiel

roary · 17/02/2010 15:31

I think that this may be the only country in the world where people worry that a name is Too Posh and Has Pretentions. It's really funny how many people veto names they love because they don't want to be a person who names their child that name!

I think in other countries the concern is only if the name is trashy.

TabithaTwitchet · 17/02/2010 15:32

Ludovic
Atticus
Miroslav
Dmitri
Constantine
Florian
Augustin(e)

LaurenBlue · 17/02/2010 15:37

I love the name Sebastian but I would HATE it if people started nicknaming him Seb, haha.

TabithaTwitchet · 17/02/2010 16:09

Ooh, just thought of another:

Esteban

Dizzymummy · 17/02/2010 16:14

duchesse · 17/02/2010 16:15

toomuchcoffee · 17/02/2010 16:31

MudandRoses · 17/02/2010 16:59

Funnily enough, reading this thread, I just kept thinking - those aren't weird names, are they?? I think they're ok!

I wanted to name my son Fascinating, and shorten it Nate. We have a 2 syllable surname and I just loved the sound of "Fascinating --"

I didn't do it though.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 17/02/2010 17:02

Juanita

Gabriel

thecloudhopper · 17/02/2010 17:59

I love the name Osian ( proncounced Oshan) it is a Welsh name my partner thinks I am nuts.

I love the name Morgan too for a boy or girl.

MoChan · 17/02/2010 18:01

Just thought of another. I love Angharad but would feel like a non-Welsh fraud if I called a daughter that.

thecloudhopper · 17/02/2010 18:19

I went to school ( in Wales) with 3 Angharad's and have akways liked the name.
Its a bugger to spell though.

HarrietTheSpy · 17/02/2010 19:26

G
Persephone
Clementine (well, not really a guilty pleasure 'the name that got away' 'cause DH wouldn't have it for our last DD)
Zelma (ditto above - family name DH rejected)

B
Augustus
Fitzwilliam

4sophia · 17/02/2010 19:34

Love Willow, Blossom and Tallulah. Wouldn't have the guts to use them though!

buzybugs · 17/02/2010 19:46

Moseley for a boy and Araminta for a girl. Was told Moseley too right wing and DH not too keen on Minty as abbreviation for Araminta!

buzybugs · 17/02/2010 20:05

Also almost got away with Tallesin which I liked for DD2 when PG and considering boys names. But now think would have made an excellent girls' name. Think I would fight for this for either boy or girl if I could persuade DH we should have a 4th......

Saladdays · 17/02/2010 20:19
