Would love to know whay "type" of names people give their dcs - i.e. if people stick to the same thrend or style of name for their DC so they flow well together or if it doesnt really make a difference at all.

I'm due number 2 in January and am almost decided on a name, but have found myself coming to decision by trying all names with dds. Just wondering what others do...

Would love to steal hear some...

GoppingOtter · 13/10/2009 22:41

Thanks for that thisisyesterday - do you think you mught go for number four and delight me with a Mavis?

are you pleased with ds3 name now ( it is lovely)?

thisisyesterday · 13/10/2009 22:45

ahh i am tempted by a number 4 i have to say. tis bound to be another boy though lol

mavis or frances are def contenders if we ever have a girl though.
need a bigger house first though

ds3's name is ok. i still have days where i think it isn't quite right. but seeing as i don't have a definite one i would change it to it is probably just as well to stick with it!

BratleyEatsBrainsForBreakfast · 13/10/2009 22:50

My DS is Isaac Harrison, but since the day he was born he's been known as Zack, unless he's in trouble!

If we have another boy he'll be either
Dexter Sonny or
Felix Sonny

A girl, would be
Ruby Alexandra or
Florence Sophia Rachel

i think it can take years to grow into a name....ds4 my 'M' one is PERFECT for his name now but took time

ds5 still not fully into his yet ....we call ours too many nick names!

you are a baby so there's loads of time!

Cameron James Thomas
Jessica Morgan
Lily Emma

DC4 due in May will be
Anna Sophia

Although I may change my mind yet! Especially after seeing all the wonderful names on here

florence2511 · 14/10/2009 03:08

Matilda Paula Elizabeth

Paula after my Mum who died when I was young.

DD would have been Barnaby had she been DS.

The names we have for future DC's are:

Harriet
Penelope
Barnaby
Bertie ( I love this, but DH had a cat called bertie and can't get his head round naming a son this)

There are some absolutely beautiful names on this thread so far. Mrs W - I especially love yours.

Allets · 14/10/2009 04:49

Caelan Elliot
Tate Timothy
Carys Faith

I wrote a really, really long winded message here yesterday evening commenting on names etc and when I clicked post was total Mumsnet was under vital maintenance

Has moved waaaay to quickly now, but some really, really beautiful names have been mentioned on here. What an imaginative bunch you are!!.

facebook I have a Shannon! - am thinking of going with Oisín to keep with an Irishy type theme. Never would have went for Irish names but Oisín seems to match Shannon. Love Naoise (Nee- sha) too but DH is too against the idea. Btw am having a lovely little boy.

I love this thread, thanks to everyone for adding - fabulous!
