My dd is Alexa, nn Lexie. I would consider Darcy if I am lucky enough to have another dd.

I do, however, think that Lexi/e is a nickname, and we preferred to name dd Alexa so that she can choose what she prefers when she is older.

purpleduck · 23/04/2009 16:15

I like them both

pranma · 23/04/2009 16:18

Darcy is lovely with ballerina connotations

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 23/04/2009 16:19

they are both lovely

screamingabdab · 23/04/2009 18:27

I much prefer Lexie. I would not see it as chavvy at all!

Bertolli · 23/04/2009 18:29

Darcy is my preference, but like them both. I don't see Lexie as chavvy at all in fact the opposite!

TabithaTwitchet · 23/04/2009 18:29

Both quite nice. Prefer Lexi but would personally put an "e" on the end - Lexie

Nancy66 · 23/04/2009 18:43

Well I think they're both a bit chavvy....soz!

RachieB · 23/04/2009 21:38

prefer Darcy

snice · 23/04/2009 21:40

The ballerina spells her name Darcey

EldonAve · 23/04/2009 21:41

I prefer Alexia

SuziSeis · 23/04/2009 21:43

not my faves

forkhandles · 23/04/2009 21:43

Alexia/Lexi

PurplePillow · 23/04/2009 21:45

They are both lovely

Love Lexi but I am a Monarch of the Glen fan

salvadory · 23/04/2009 22:09

both bleurgh IMHO. Alexa/Alexia/Alexandra nice, it's just lexi I have a problem with (it does seem to be fairly common popular here in the NW) although strangely Lex I like.
I have more of a problem with Darcey as i just don't like how it sounds (think Darcey Arsey)what about Dahlia if you like D names?

paolosgirl · 23/04/2009 22:11

Sexy Lexi (only fine for an adult who IS sexy, iykwim!) and Arsey Darcy.

Sorry - don't like either of them. They sound a bit the c word. Sorry.

Leannabanana · 24/04/2009 07:52

i cannot bear kate garraway so that kills darcey for me and Lexi is just a bit blah now i think....i feel like i have heard it a millioin times [tho in realisty i don't know one...go figure]

go for the one that she most looks like when she is here...

jellybeans · 24/04/2009 22:51

I prefer Lexie but I worried about the 'Sexy Lexy' thing when I considered it.

kittywise · 24/04/2009 23:02

yuk to both

janeite · 24/04/2009 23:05

I like Darcy. Don't like Lexie.

SuziSeis · 24/04/2009 23:05

MrsToffeeCrisp · 24/04/2009 23:13

Like them both, know of two Darcys - both lovely! Think its good for both cute little girls and grown up career women! Don't know any Lexis but personally would have to have it as a nickname to Alexa or something similar.

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 24/04/2009 23:17

I used to teach a 'lexine' - lovely name and easily shortened to Lexie.
