like it

LadyPinkofPinkerton · 13/04/2009 10:19

I like India, not keen on Rose, too girly for me personally but they do go nicely together

Leannabanana · 13/04/2009 10:26

DH is anglo-indian - white mother, indian father- and i am white and blonde so baby is most likely going to be dark haired and dark eyed.... i was thinkin about India as a bit of a nod to her heritage tho she won't be obviously indian - i worry this is a bit twee? DH thinks i am overthinking it and he really loves the name.....i swear MN makes you overthink names to the point of talking yourself out of them....x

I think India is a lovely name and Rose works well.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 13/04/2009 10:28

Love it.

ClovisHandrail · 13/04/2009 10:29

Gorgeous.

Wilts · 13/04/2009 10:32

I love the name India,I have a friend called India and she is lovely so I always think of the name in a positive way . I am not so keen on Rose though.

Hulababy · 13/04/2009 10:32

Lovely name.

kando · 13/04/2009 10:36

Gorgeous name

loobylu3 · 13/04/2009 11:21

It's a pretty name and not twee at all. I know an India Jane who has an Indian mother and Caucasian father.
Baby may not necessarily be dark haired, etc though. I am also anglo-indian with dark hair/ eyes but look Caucasian (nobody ever guesses I am half Indian) so baby could be quite fair you never know!!

flier · 13/04/2009 11:24

I actually really like it. It has a hippy kind of sound to it.

stuckinthecorner · 13/04/2009 11:31

beautiful- was my choice if ds had been a dd

RushandGo · 13/04/2009 11:34

I love it. Very pretty

Nancy66 · 13/04/2009 11:51

I like it - but I feel like I've heard it 100 times before. I probably haven't but just feels like that.

mrsdisorganised · 13/04/2009 11:52

Lovely.

MegSophandEmma · 13/04/2009 11:52

stunning name

ruty · 13/04/2009 11:56

it is lovely, especially considering your dd's heritage, but have you considered an Indian name? Only saying that as India very popular at moment.

skymonkey · 13/04/2009 15:09

hiya, I'm also half indian with a white partner and considered this exact same name for a girl, didn't get to use it though as we have 2 boys. so it gets a thumbs up from me x

Leannabanana · 13/04/2009 15:11

Not keen on an indian name to be honest.....my DH is called david and about as english as could be....he doesn't look indian at all and his adoptive parents are both white so an indian name really makes no sense for us....i haven't heard of too many India's around here [SE]so would feel confident that it wouldn't be overly common.

samsonara · 13/04/2009 15:26

The 2 India's I know are not Asian or Indian, so I'm not sure using that name will necessarily be a nod to her heritage, I do like it as a name though

ItsMargotBeaurEGGarde · 13/04/2009 15:36

I was going to say no, but as you have a connection to India then I change my mind and say yes. It's better with that link. I know one and her parents had never been to India. They just liked it. I wouldn't do that.

India Joy?. India Faith?, India Beth, India Rose is so predictable.

Leannabanana · 13/04/2009 15:47

i know what you mean by predictable but i think that is because it goes so beautifully. i really love the name Rose in its own right. India Jane is lovely tho, as is India Joy...

Rose will get more popular as a name for girls, think Sunday Rose (Nicole Kidman's dd), I like India Rose.

Shosheaster · 13/04/2009 16:01
