ds1 is called Bréagh, (pronounced bray)
we have a girls name already but cant think of a boys name that will compliment our son's. we want an irish name as our son's is irish and we dont want a name that someone we know has. any suggestions would be lovely.

How can I put this...

Is that an American writer?

Americans have a McIrish version of 'Irish'. A version of Irish which sounds fashionable to them.

eg, Rory for a girl, Finn for a girl.

Keegan (a sur name) for a boy etc

Kennedy for a girl!?!

You could say what about Clodagh or Roisin or Diarmuid or Tadhg, and that would be 'too foreign' to their ears. Which is fair enough, but their perception of Irish is distorted. In my humble opinion!

all about Nora according to Wikipedia:

Eleanor Marie Robertson was born on October 10, 1950 in Silver Spring, Maryland, the only daughter and the youngest of five children

She is of Irish descent as both of her parents have Irish ancestors, and has described herself as "an Irishwoman through and through".

Hmmmm, one of those!!

How about Fachtna (think there's a fada over the first a but could be wrong).
