It's horrible but I've heard worse. I know a woman with an alice and a celia, which i thought was clever. simple soul that i am!

SAEJ · 13/01/2009 18:48

Poor child. Hope someone points him in the direction of deedpoll.

MadameCastafiore · 13/01/2009 19:01

There is a Behreez , on another thread maybe Rayn and Behreez could marry and produce a mine hurricane!

VampiresWalkin · 13/01/2009 19:03

He must have searched far and wide to find the village's other idiot to reproduce with.

I prefer Yarn tbh

Tamarto · 13/01/2009 19:06

That just shows that you can find anyone on MySpace

lucyintheskywithdiamonds · 13/01/2009 19:10

'Ican't wait till he can appreciate my jokes'
Don't think Rayn will appreciate the on ewith his name Lee.
I don;t understand why these parents want their children to be bullied

beanieb · 13/01/2009 19:11

I hate these threads but even I raised my eyebrows reading this at lunchtime.

hoxtonchick · 13/01/2009 19:12

marvellous thread .

rubyslippers · 13/01/2009 19:13

oh beanie, i know

I am usually the first finger wagging and sauying "i hope the parents aren't on MN" but this takes the cake

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 13/01/2009 19:13

Almost split my side on the "If we ever have a girl, she?ll be called Rose Quartz."

Oh, please dont, for the love of all that is holy, no!!!

Tamarto · 13/01/2009 19:20

Who knows she may be a secret MNetter and they said that in the article to provide us with this thread.

He's probably called George or something

Amapoleon · 13/01/2009 19:24

He'll probably do a Zowie Bowie and call himself Duncan in a few years time, hehehehe

DontCallMeBaby · 13/01/2009 19:27

Enough with the names, what about the quality reporting:

"And now, the social networking website has resulted in the creation of life."

It's the comma that does it.

saggyhairyarse · 13/01/2009 21:45

Good lord, if a good friend or family member came up with something like that I would have to have a diplomatic word.

And Amethyst? For a boy?? Couldn't they have used Garnet or Jasper?????

solidgoldsoddingjanuaryagain · 13/01/2009 21:47

Hey, he could have called the baby Nyar! That;s another anagram of wanker Ryan.

solidgoldsoddingjanuaryagain · 13/01/2009 21:53

Rose Quartz isn't that awful - lots of people have atrocious middle names and Rose is OK.
(Suddenly thinks of Rose West and takes against name).

But I'm not too fussed about unusual names. Given that so many kids will have names that sound unusual or unfamiliar to their classmates, whether it's Ezekiel or Butterfly or Plasma-Screen Chavtastic.

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 13/01/2009 22:40

Its the combination of "Rose" and "Quartz"
Might as well call them "Gold Plated" or "Nine Carat" or... "Gem Stone"
Tis just wrong.

Astrophe · 14/01/2009 05:05

oh, I see, it's an anagram lol lol lol

mickeymistletoe · 14/01/2009 09:10

so glad he pointed out the anagram. would have been stumped for days otherwise. what a pair of idiots.

also not loving the matching blonde highlights. bet they share the hair straighteners in the morning while the nanny looks after Rayn Lee Amethyst Ryan. Poor child.

should have called him "Nary" I think.
I think the baby wants to get off that bed and away from them...look at his expression!

lastboxoftampons · 14/01/2009 12:20

As far as precious stones go - I think Quartz is better suited to a boy and Amethyst to a girl, no? Not that either are names FFS!!!

kerryk · 14/01/2009 13:05

we will know whether or not she is a mumsnetter if the name changes in the next week.

poor poor child though, i actually quite like rain for a little girl (if thats how rayn will be pronounced ) but it is tragic for a boy.

i cant believe she agreed to that name, my dh came up with some pretty dodgy names but was told no chance

Luxmum · 14/01/2009 13:11

Not only the most inanely pretentios chav name there is, not only the explaination of the anagram and the Lee in there too, but has anyone noticed the shockingly identical faces of the happy parents? Put a blonde wig and too much bronzer on pappy Ryan Lee, and eh voile, you have the Oompah Loompah wife. How much up your own arse do you have to be, to marry someone who looks JUST LIKE YOU?????

PandaG · 14/01/2009 13:13

I have laughed so hard that I very nearly did PMSL! I don't usually comment on baby name threads, as it is generally each to their own, but this is just beyond daft!
