Yep.

I think it's pretty.

Helsbels4 · 09/01/2009 07:14

I personally don't like it. Much prefer Olivia although that's more popular at the mo so you might end up with three Olivia's in the class! Octavia reminds me of that Emu thing from Pipkins or whatever it was, from years ago! Sounds a bit stuffy to me.

eleanorsmum · 09/01/2009 07:17

pretty name but there is a skoda car called an octavia. might not go down well as she grows. I love the btw! very economical and reliable!

atowncalledalice · 09/01/2009 07:33

It's a beautiful name, I love it.

Northernlurker · 09/01/2009 07:57

It's a lovely name. I think it sounds sweet for a little girl and then will be great for a woman.

belgo · 09/01/2009 08:05

I've always liked it.

Tigerschick · 09/01/2009 08:07

I think it's a pretty name but my parents have a Skoda Octavia so it will always be tarnished with that for me now.

It's pretty so, if you're not bothered about the car link, go for it.

Fillyjonk · 09/01/2009 08:20

i like it

its a car though

largeginandtonic · 09/01/2009 08:23

I love it, have been sort of holding out to get to #8 child to use it.

#7 due Monday and pretty sure there will be no #8 now. Am a bit upset as it is such a lovely name.

belgo · 09/01/2009 08:25

it's so annoying when they give cars a pretty girl's name.

There's a car called Elize I think?

frogs · 09/01/2009 08:27

We nearly called dd2 Octavia, but I'm enough of a classics nerd to know that the 8th child thing would annoy me.

It's a lovely name, and Tavy would be a sweet nickname.

Dottoressa · 09/01/2009 08:29

Gorgeous. It was on my list for DD, but was another one that DH vetoed. Go for it!!

BonsoirAnna · 09/01/2009 08:32

Very pretty.

Takver · 09/01/2009 08:51

Pretty, but the Octavia I know gets called Occy by her schoolfriends which I don't like so much.

PuppyMonkey · 09/01/2009 08:55

Poncey.... sorry.

crokky · 09/01/2009 09:08

I drive one...

ILiketoMarmiteMarmite · 09/01/2009 09:36

Beautiful name, but agree about the 8th child and the pedant.

LouMacca · 09/01/2009 09:38

Awful unless you are v. posh.

RachieB · 09/01/2009 09:44

agree with Lou!

Neeerly3 · 09/01/2009 09:47

nope, sorry don't like it, when I say it it always comes out in a cockney accent and sounds rubbish...

Lancelottie · 09/01/2009 09:55

Nearly got to use it for our number 3 -- born on 7th October. I was going to insist on it if she'd been born on the 8th!

belgo · 09/01/2009 09:57

Lancelotte - I wanted Octaaf as a middle name for ds who was also born in October - but dh disagreed (went for Gustaaf instead which is a family name)

violethill · 09/01/2009 10:07

I'm with the pedants on this - it's a beautiful name, but it seemed wrong to give it to dd 1 or 2, when it means 'eighth', and I don't like it enough to have 8 children

HelenBurns · 09/01/2009 11:27

Belgo, I love gustaaf

Your ds has such a wonderful name! (tis fa btw)
