Brucie?

For a girl

Not totally a piss take, you have lots of both names, eg Leslie/Lesley, Tracie/Tracey, Charlie/Charlie etc

The more I think about it the more I think it holds promise

OK Mumsnetters, please be nicer to me than last time, what do you all think?

PaddingtonBore · 31/12/2008 20:06

TotalChaos · 31/12/2008 20:06

no way.

ScummyMummy · 31/12/2008 20:07

I prefer it spelled Brewsee, myself

thisisyesterday · 31/12/2008 20:08

lol scummy

marymagdalene · 31/12/2008 20:10

if you want to honour the SCD route why not go for Tess?!

KatieMorag · 31/12/2008 20:10

please tell me this is a joke?

Heated · 31/12/2008 20:11

only if she has a long chin

Can I also say how well you've taken the pretty uninversal battering of the name Elly-nor.

It's only cos we care!

LiffeyValleyOfTheDolls · 31/12/2008 20:19

Oh I'm flattered to see my name in a thread title!

LiffeyValleyOfTheDolls · 31/12/2008 20:19

All joking aside, I think you should call your dd Elinor Dulcie

LiffeyValleyOfTheDolls · 31/12/2008 20:20

And save Brucie for your son!

He can be Brucie Elliot.

nkf · 31/12/2008 20:21

What was the last name you picked? Brucie is, well, not good.

expatinscotland · 31/12/2008 20:22

Please don't. Even if the baby turns out to be a boy.

Go buy a hamster. Name it Brucie. Don't worry, it'll only live about 4 years to a max.

aGalChangedHerName · 31/12/2008 20:22

OMG you have got to be joking!!!

It would be bad enough for a boy never mind a little girl.

expatinscotland · 31/12/2008 20:24

What was the last name you loved, Quasimodie?

aGalChangedHerName · 31/12/2008 20:24

Ellynor expat iirc

Thunderduck · 31/12/2008 20:25

Absolutely not.

What was your last name choice?

ILoveBrucie · 31/12/2008 20:27

Thank you Heated

I don't actually take much notice of what you all say, you don't really feature that highly in my life!!

Anyway I have talked to DH about Brucie and have decided that it is in the running if we ahave a ds.

I do though like the suggestion of Ellynor Dulcy, I think it looks nd sounds gorgeous so thanks for that

aGalChangedHerName · 31/12/2008 20:28

Why not spell it properly tho?

ILoveBrucie · 31/12/2008 20:34

Because we want some kind of individuality in htis world of conformity and clones

OP posts:
aGalChangedHerName · 31/12/2008 20:38

You can be an individual quite easily with a normal name tho dontcha think?

HallelujahHeisBorntoMary · 31/12/2008 20:44

This conversation reminds me of the life of Brian (now there's a nice name for a girl - how about Briany?)

BRIAN:Look. You've got it all wrong. You don't need to follow me. You don't need to follow anybody! You've got to think for yourselves. You're all individuals!
FOLLOWERS: Yes, we're all individuals!
BRIAN: You're all different!
FOLLOWERS:Yes, we are all different!
DENNIS: I'm not.

ILoveBrucie · 31/12/2008 20:45

If you look at all the normal names they are either done to death or incredibly chavvy, but by twiddling with the spelling we feel we are doing the right thing.

OP posts:
aGalChangedHerName · 31/12/2008 20:49

Ellynor Dulcy sounds v chavvy IMO.

Sorry.

thisisyesterday · 31/12/2008 20:50

hang on a minute i replied to that but somehow it didn't get posted.

I think that "unique" spellings look far chavvier than an unusual name spelled correctly
