Cosmo - cruel or acceptable???

I love the name Cosmo for a boy, but it is just me??? Do you think it is dreadful/cruel/ridiculous?

It's also the name of a magazine.

You would have to be very tough to have a name like htat round there here parts.

In the right place, and in the right crowd of friends ... maybe.

But it is pretentious, imo, and round my neck of the woods little Cosmo would have the most awful time and, indeed, probably get beaten up on a daily basis.

There are names like Felix and Jasper which are a bit more doable. The name Cosmo is not going to travel well.

Really don't want to uspet you by being too frank ...

i love it, but i think alot of it depends what sort of person you are and what sort of circles you mix in, if you know what i mean.

I don't know, I'm not sure one way or t'other.

I kinda like it, sounds like someone who lives in primrose hill.

It doesn't have a kook air to it, like cosmic. Maybe he would be known as mickey.

Does it suit your surname, fit with other children's names. Who would he mix with? Mungo's, rafferty's or kelan's and liam's?

Do you see what I mean?

The only thing I have against it is MILs cat is called Cosmo. He was called Gizmo, but when they adopted him they changed it.

But you need to be relatively modern to carry it off IMO.

I LOVE it! I know two and they are both fabulous. They really live up to the name IYKWIM, they are quirky and gorgeous. Neither of them really got any grief as I recall but are both from very trendy parts of England.

Where abouts are you roughly?
