I am not saying I don't like these names...but some names get too popular and then they start to smell a bit and seem naff

For girls:

Jade
Ruby? It's the second most popular girl naem nowadays
Aimee
Anything-Mae

For boys:

Rhys
Jayden
Logan

By convention, ships are referred to as 'she' so I guess car manufacturers adopted the same tradition.

My RL name was almost unheard-of when I was born, became briefly trendy, was adopted by owners of small yappy dogs, then slowly became more mainstream and eventually rather naff.

When I named dd, I thought the name would be unusual but not unheard-of - little did I know that it was rapidly spreading through the zeitgeist and would come to be dismissed by Charlotte Church as "too common" (oh, the shame). It is now heading to be the next Lily/Mia/Ruby.

FWIW, I think Sharon, Deborah and Tracy are fine names.

MsDemeanor · 29/07/2008 23:09

higher!

hester · 29/07/2008 23:10
