What does everyone think of Poppy?
is it likely to date badly?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Beautiful name 💕

WeddingDressguest · 21/08/2026 19:58

No I don't think so. I knew a Poppy at school, and it worked well on her when she was an older teenager. Can see it working very well on adult too.

SeriouslyAreYouSure · 21/08/2026 19:59

It's fine.
it works for all ages.

TrojanDonkey · 21/08/2026 20:01

It’s hugely popular already. Generally always saddled with May/Rose/Grace on the end. It’ll definitely date if she’s yet another Poppy-Rose.

I’m not a fan personally as I think it’s a bit twee.

Mullaghanish · 21/08/2026 20:07

Not a fan.. there are 4 in my teen daughters school year.. she also knows 4 Evie s .. what about Leonie?

Besidemyselfwithworry · 21/08/2026 20:27

It’s nice but it’s very popular

Helenbelena · 21/08/2026 20:38

I strongly dislike it. Too cutesy and twee. Like Poppet. And just one letter from Poopy.

Ladamesansmerci · 21/08/2026 20:39

I like it 🤷 I think it's pretty and I personally think it will become a classic. Regardless, if you like it, use it.

mathanxiety · 21/08/2026 20:40

Very twee and juvenile.

Trumptontown · 21/08/2026 20:42

I love it.

BoredZelda · 21/08/2026 20:43

I love it. What matters is, do you like it?

Optimisticdramalarma · 21/08/2026 20:56

I wanted the name poppy when I was pregnant

Unfortunately baby came out with a willy so the name got shelved

It's a gorgeous name

Littlejellyuk · 21/08/2026 20:58

Is it just Poppy as a standalone name, or does the baba have a middle name?

mathanxiety · 21/08/2026 20:40

Very twee and juvenile.

This.

NamingNoNames · 21/08/2026 21:14

I know adult ones and I like it. I don't think it particularly twee.

parkezvous · 21/08/2026 21:18

Love it. I know a late 20s Poppy and a 4 month old.

Humanswarm · 21/08/2026 21:19

I taught a Poppy, beautiful child and has gone on to great things..

paddleboardingmum · 22/08/2026 00:26

Nice

user1492757084 · 22/08/2026 08:13

If you like it she will not be a lone Poppy.
Also like Polly.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 22/08/2026 21:06

My GD’s name I love it

pasanda · 22/08/2026 21:09

My dd is called Poppy. She is now 22yo and it REALLY suits her. When she was very young, it was much less common, and everyone absolutely loved it when I said her name.
I still love it - she is Poppy Ella.

Strawberrydelight78 · 22/08/2026 21:21

I think it’s lovely there will be no confusion over how it’s pronounced or spelling. It suits adults as well I prefer it to a lot of the names I hear of now.

BotterMon · 22/08/2026 21:36

Neighbour's dog is Poppy. Bit twee for a human. Cute for a kid but not an adult.

DramaAlpaca · 22/08/2026 21:44

Strongly dislike it; just so cutesy and twee.

agri · 22/08/2026 21:45

Love it
