Almost all of them sound very American.

I’m not sure of their origins but I kind of get what your DH means. None of them are traditional names in the UK and all of them would fit a character in an American TV show.

It doesn’t mean that they aren’t nice names though and you shouldn’t use them.

Yeah quite nice (though Hudson? Really? Have you read about the Hudson River?) but v v American. I do come across a few of these in the UK, particularly Madison, through work.

All of them sound American except Autumn because they call it fall and Fall isn’t a name. If you don’t like the American label then would you prefer them being called “modern” as they are names that we wouldn’t have seen when growing up in the UK.

Yeah I’m with your husband, they all sound American to me. I have come across about half of them on UK born children though so they’re not unheard of here. Nothing wrong with American names though if that’s what you like.

I think American too. Madison is weird as a girl, it means 'son of Maud'.

I’ve always really disliked the name Madison and never been sure why it caught on. Delaney is a surname as are most of the boy choices.

Madison came from the film Splash!. The mermaid plated GT Daryl Hannah needed a human name, she saw the word Madison (I think they were near Madison Square Garden) and said that was her name. The Tom Hanks character looked confused but that's what she became .
