What are your favourite baby names you ended up not using?

Tell me your favourite names you didn’t use?

Charlie, because my sister’s best friend had recently had a boy and called him Charlie so chose not to go with it. Violet, because I had a boy.

Oliver, because we both have best friends called Oli. And Iris.

Phoebe - it came a close second to what we chose.

Zoe or Lucy because I had boys

Brodie-dh hated it
George - same
Rosie- love it but its my exs dds name

Emma - had 2 boys!

We had decided on Isaac after we were told we were having another boy. The baby turned out to be a girl.

Elinor - love this name but didn’t have a 2nd girl.

Yes spelt like this - if it’s good enough for Jane Austen it’s good enough for me.

Lucy - didn’t like the idea of her being nicknamed “loose”

Madeline - loved it wish I fought harder for it she would suit Maddie

Anna. DH’s ex girlfriend.

Layla and Simona - both vetoed

Elspeth ~ no Scottish ancestry and wouldn't look right with our surname

Philippa & Josephine ~ DH wanted a 'truly' girls name, not a female version of a male name

Jonathan ~ we know several and felt it may have caused confusion

Simeon ~ DH wasn't keen, can't remember why!

Olivia, Harriet, Sophie, Edward, Joseph, George

Alexander, George, Susanna, Eleanor, Helena, Louisa

For Boys- Torin, Casper, River, Magnus, Rex, Kit, Cosmo- but we had girls

For girls we considered Matilda, Piper, Athena, Tallulah, Clara, Iris, Ivy, Penelope, Zelda, Lyra, Cora….. but none of them worked for different reasons!

didn’t have boys but always loved Roman, which would be too common now, and Moss.

Rachel, because we had ds.

Tamar - not brave enough (also it’s a girls name)
Redgrave (after Sir Steve) decided it was too extreme. Still slightly regretful for Red as a NN.

Scarlett, because it would have been quite out there at the time. Now of course it wouldn't.

Ilona. Ds was a boy
Karenza & Seraphina. Dd3 didn't feel like someone with a long name

We struggles with boysnames so don't have any there to add.

Tabitha and Juliet.
