Thoughts on the baby name Knowledge with a surname like Smith

Me and my partner really like the name "Knowledge" for a boy. I'm curious to see what other people think of this name choice.

Knowledge Jamie Smith (our last name is very similar to Smith)

Jamie is the middle name because his father's name is James.

I think it holds a warm and curious energy. What do you guys think?

I am remembering the late "Tremendous Knowledge Dave" from Eggheads. He did indeed have tremendous knowledge, much missed.

I have a rather sturdy and clumsy friend called Grace, who hates her name, but she is anything but graceful!

I can imagine Knowledge being an even harder name to be landed with if you’re anything less super clever & knowledgeable.

Grace has nothing at all to do with being physically graceful, though. It’s grace as in the grace of God, or mercy.

Maybe not but I’d find it hard to take someone seriously if they had a stupid name. Dr Peaches Fifi Trixabelle for example. I’m on the receiving end of a stupid name and it really does affect how people perceive you. I’m not saying it’s right but it does. Like why name your child Ollie or Bobby or Tommy. Give them the full version and that as a nickname. I don’t know.. 🤷🏻‍♀️ just my opinion.

It’s a dreadful choice unless it’s a style of naming common in your culture.

A friend had had a Zimbabwean maid growing up named Sixpence. Don't know what effect decimalisation would have had later in life.

Well is it Smith or not? Smith means maker so Knowledge Smith would mean ‘knowledge maker’ which is weird. If your name isn’t actually Smith it completely changes the meaning of the name

Why not just choose a name that means the same thing? Like Sophie for a girl (Wisdom) or Alfred (Wise one)
