Favourite childhood books would have given me a daughter called Pippi (Longstocking) or Arrietty (Borrowers) or a son called James (Giant Peach) or Stig (Of the Dump).

and have used Blythe as a middle name for my other daughter - although she is my thing but!

Gosh a lot of affection for Jude the Obscure - I mean Jude is a nice name, but not a character I would want to name someone after, he has the most horrible life

🤣 watching rugby only makes me remember again how much I like Gilbert! It's one of those ones though where I don't know if I'd be brave enough to use it because I'd worry that without the association of adoring Anne of Green Gables my child wouldn't necessarily love their name. It's always on the long list but doesn't make it to the final round.

Can imagine a cool teenage boy call Gil! Or Bert.
