Unusual but not wacky girls names?

Trying to compile a list of girls’ names… I tend to like names which aren’t too common, I work in a school so unfortunately associate a lot of more popular or commonly used names with our pupils. I don’t want anything too crazy but would be interested to hear of any names which people love but don’t hear often?
For example, I really like the name Rumer, as in the children’s author Rumer Godden, but my husband hates it as associates it with “rumour” - which I get. I just liked that it’s different and I don’t know of anyone called Rumer!

I've come across a Bronte ~ it's a beautiful, unusual name, really suited her and everyone knows how to spell it

I also like Dvora which I believe is the Hebrew form of Deborah and Amalia which is the Dutch form of Amelia

I have a daughter called Merryn. Its corniche and at 15 we are yet to meet another child eith her name, have met one adult one.

Its unusual but not weird was my criteria 🤣

My youngest is a boy but if he had been a girl he would have been Juniper, Juno for short.

My daughter is Loveday (Cornish, but don’t live in Cornwall). Nobody here has ever come across it, my parents were at a drinks party and there were 4 granddaughters with the same name!

I love that name.

RainbowHiii · 29/03/2026 22:33

I love Saffron but it didn't suit either of my daughters
