I just adore Lydia. Beautiful timeless name. Special mention to Eve, although I think I prefer Eva to Eve, just slightly. How exciting, best of luck with it all!

LassiKopiano24 · 18/03/2026 19:07

I voted Ruby, but I also really like Leah, they are all nice names to pick from!

Drivingmissrangey · 18/03/2026 19:08

Flamin’ Nora. Please don’t. You have some lovely names in that list.

Joolsin · 18/03/2026 19:18

Lydia is gorgeous. I also like Ruby and Nora but don't rate the other names.

BeaLola · 18/03/2026 19:22

I really like Eve or also Eva

User6761 · 18/03/2026 19:25

I love Eve and Norah (with an h!)

NannyR · 18/03/2026 19:25

Some great names there! I love Leah best, closely followed by Nora and Lydia.

Ipsevenenabibas · 18/03/2026 19:29

Voted Leah but also like Eve.

Ipsevenenabibas · 18/03/2026 19:29

Oh now I'm thinking about it I actually love Eve.

ultracynic · 18/03/2026 19:32

I voted Eloise, hands down, How about Lois, similar in style to your others.

BoleynMemories13 · 18/03/2026 19:32

What a lovely list! I don't dislike any of them but have considered Eloise and Lydia myself so they're my favourites (I voted for Eloise). I have a real soft spot for Ruby too as I know some lovely ones.

Leah is perhaps a little dated now, but I've always liked it. Eve is ok, very classic but I prefer Eva personally as I find it a bit more sparky.

Nora is my least favourite, as old lady chic isn't really my style, but it's one of the better ones.

Similar style names you might like:-

Eliza
Elodie
Iris
Ivy
Ava
Lyla
Lara

Shufflebumnessie · 18/03/2026 19:42

Lydia or Eloise (although this may become quite popular due to Bridgerton).

Rainbow1235 · 18/03/2026 19:47

Eloise it’s beautiful

Villanousvillans · 18/03/2026 19:49

Eve ❤️

NamingNoNames · 18/03/2026 19:51

Lydia - really like it and Lydie as a diminutive
Leah - not keen on the sound or spelling and yes I know it's a biblical name
Eve - like it a lot, but I don't like Eva, Ava, Evelyn, Evangeline etc and there are so many Evies
Eloise - I find it a bit of a mouthful and the Elouise misspelling is hideous. Likely to be Ellie.
Ruby - it's OK
Nora - Nora Batty and Flaming Nora. Norah is better.

tinyspiny · 18/03/2026 19:54

Lydia is best followed by Leah and then Eve . I don’t like the other three .

Mosaic80 · 18/03/2026 19:54

All lovely but Eloise just edges it for me.

eta ther are 2 rubys in my DDs reception) age year which puts me off and there are lots of Evie type names about which puts me off those. I haven’t met any of the other though.

ToadRage · 18/03/2026 20:03

Lydia is the only one I like on your list. Leah was always a chavvy name to me, knew a few chavs called Leah. Eve is just boring. Eloise is likely to become very popular due to Bridgerton. Ruby is ok, just ok. Nora is ugly.

ladygindiva · 18/03/2026 20:04

User6761 · 18/03/2026 19:25

I love Eve and Norah (with an h!)

I also prefer Norah with an h. Seems much prettier.

imbolic · 18/03/2026 20:05

Eloise - just no....

"Every night I'm there
I'm always there, she knows I'm there
And heaven knows
I hope she goes

I find it hard
To realize that love was in her eyes
It's dying now
She knows I'm crying now... "

(Barry Ryan hit in 1968)

DallasMajor · 18/03/2026 20:07

I love Lydia and Norah (agree with a h)

But what about Noa (no h!)

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 18/03/2026 20:08

Lydia is lovely

Liminal1975 · 18/03/2026 20:10

Lydia had a lovely meaning (purveyor of purple cloth).

BabyTimez · 18/03/2026 20:10

I voted and LOVE the simplicity and elegance of Eve. Nickname Evie, if you like. It was on my shortlist for my daughter. I also love Eloise although Eve is still my #1. Beautiful names on your list.

simpsonthecat · 18/03/2026 20:11

I know an adult Lydia and she has always been called Lyds. Just bear that in mind!
Eve is lovely
