I voted for Ruby but I struggled to choose between Ruby and Lydia. I lik Nora too.

I agree I don't like the spelling of Eloise. It looks to me like Ee-lowy-se (not dissimilar to Eyore the donkey, or the Eloi in HG Wells.

But what about Heloise? Preferably with diaresis and acute.

I voted Eve but Lydia is a worthy runner up.

I have an Eloise. As Previous Poster said it can be misspelled Elouise but don’t let that put you off. She does not tolerate anyone calling her Ellie but doesn’t mind Elle.

Eloise is not a common name but we have found a disproportionate number compete in a specific dance sport. An Eloise is expensive

Lydia is my favourite, then Leah.
They are all nice except Nora. Always makes me think of "gnaw a bone".

They are all lovely. I don't think you can go wrong. My pick is Eloise, followed closely by Lydia.

I like them all, apart from Eloise (too trendy and a bit of a mouthful - though I love Louisa). Ruby and Lydia are my favourites.

Nora or Leah

Yeah Eloise is definitely my least favourite. It’s everywhere and becoming a bit of a mean girl name. Louisa is lovely.

It really is a mean girl name! Why is that?!

I know three Eloises and they are all bullies and a bit catty. It doesn't sound mean, so I wonder what it is ...

It will be because it appeals to parents likely to create/raise a mean girl.
