Don’t want to use a family name as a middle name, so wondering what goes well with Clementine. Surname is two syllables

Clementine is a lovely name.

You don’t have to have a middle name! I haven’t got one and have never ever felt the need of one.

And Clementine does have lots of letters .

Don’t feel you must add a middle name for the sake of it.

I love the pp suggestions of Clementine Lucy - that would be my pick!

I came to say Clementine Alice.

I think it's pretty.

There was a poster the other day who wanted Olive and Clementine, which I didn't like as it played up the "fruitiness" but Clementine was in fact a name before the fruit was named.

I'm not sure the names like Hebe, Heidi etc are in the same mood as Clementine

Clementine is a fine name. Personally I'd pick up the M for a middle name:
Marcia
Miranda
Matilda
Merryn
Maisie
Mauve
But... I agree with pp. Not Margaret

BeeandG · 10/02/2026 22:34

Clementine Mary was my thought. Think it sounds lovely.

I love the name Clementine, although my first cat was called Morris Clementine.

Clementine June would be amazing if she was born in June! I think one syllable works best with a long name. Have you got a best friend or a famous person you admire?

Orange

Amblealongside · 10/02/2026 22:57

I love the name Clementine. I think pp's suggestions of either Faith, Hope or Joy are just perfect for a middle name. Short, sweet and not overly-used.

Jane
Fay

So much is dependent on your surname though. If your surname is something like Cockburn, Hoare, Ping or Butt, no first or last name is going to save you. You might as well pick any old name. I hope you’ve got a decent surname.

This is the most perverse post. I mean if your surname is Butt you have to just get on with it and choose a name anyway.

I really don't get your point.

No offence but Clementine is an awful name and will be ripped to shreds at school etc

if you could choose a name for yourself would you choose Clementine? Course you wouldn’t, don’t inflict it on the poor kid

Just because you don’t like the name, doesn’t mean it’s awful. I really like the name.

Clementine Grace

Clementine Emma

Clementine Anna

For those of you saying stupid things like Madarin and the such like you obviously don’t know that Clementine is a really beautiful classic name and was Winston Churchills wife’s name.

Beautiful is subjective. And just because it was the ex prime ministers wife’s name doesnt make it better.

Sorry OP I just think Orange.

I’m sure most people think Earhart or even Dimoldenberh before they think of limb difference. It’s been a very popular name for decades!

Maybe, but it puts many off. Also it has an awfully ugly 'mealy' sound in it. The name Dick used to be popular and around for many years too but isn't chosen now for its connotations.
