Sophie

Jugendstiel · 24/01/2026 15:46

I love Rosa and Sophie. Two of the best girl's names ever.

Don't like Elle much. It's pretty but it just means 'she' - like calling your daughter 'female'.

Rae feels like a nickname for Rachel

georgiaw · 24/01/2026 15:48

Sophie or Elle. Not keen on the alliteration with the others.

Liquoriceallsortsmadear · 24/01/2026 15:49

Rosa

DramaAlpaca · 24/01/2026 15:51

Sophie or Rosa, but prefer Sophie as it's not alliterative with the surname.

I strongly dislike the other two.

Amy891 · 24/01/2026 15:56

Thanks everyone so far. Some thoughts we hadn’t considered. I think veering toward Rosa or Sophie, the big decision is the alliteration or no alliteration….

Rosa

ShawnaMacallister · 24/01/2026 16:12

Rosa or Sophie. No to the other two.

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 24/01/2026 16:21

Rosa, although I think I’d make it Rosalie, with Rosa for short

cartagenagina · 24/01/2026 16:26

Sophie

Sophie

I’d go for

Sophia Rae Roberston

or Sophie Rae Robertson as you prefer Sophie.

GoodVibesHere · 24/01/2026 16:29

Sophie, goes better with the surname. Actually I prefer Sophia but that's not on your listSmile

123123again · 24/01/2026 16:35

Definitely alliteration. Its cool!

But Rosa not Rae. The male version Ray isn’t great and that’s all I hear.

Moreteaandchocolate · 24/01/2026 16:47

I really like Rosa - beautiful, simple and classy. I quite like the alliteration.

Sophie is nice too, but there are a lot of Sophie’s and Sophia’s around us, which would put me off.

Elle feels a bit unfinished as it’s a letter sound, like saying “L”. How about Ella - that’s got the same classy vibe as Rosa?

Rae is a no from me.

DuchessOfNarcissex · 24/01/2026 16:54

Rosa - nice but doesn't go with the surname
Sophie - great. I like it but Sophia/Sofia is so popular
Rae - dreadful. If you want Rae could you put Rachel on the BC.
Elle - it's just Her or She. Ellie and Ella have been done to death. Elle short for something would be ok.

The alliteraton doesn't sound good IMO because it's Rose-uh Rob-uh-tson.
Rosie Robertson does work.

dailyconniptions · 24/01/2026 17:00

Rae is dreadful. Sounds like a bloke in a string vest. Rosa is lovely.

olympicsrock · 24/01/2026 17:10

I like Rosa Sophie and Rae ( like a sun ray)
How about Sophie Rae Robertson ? Rosa Rae is too much alliteration

Baguetteandcheese · 24/01/2026 18:03

I don’t like Elle or Rae. I like Sophie but my goodness there are so many of them. I work with 3! It’s just very safe bordering on dull. Not a fan of Rosa.

repeatingabaselessclaim · 24/01/2026 18:47

Rosie and Sophie I like best because although all 4 names go well with Robertson, I think the 2 syllable first names sound just that bit nicer with your3 syllable name.

Cakeandcardio · 24/01/2026 18:49

Sophie. Such a timeless name. I am a teacher and have never taught a Sophie who was not delightful. Plus, I think it matches your surname too
