MumDSDD · 09/11/2025 16:38

baby due in 5 days, don’t yet have a name, want it to be traditional and end in ie as I already have a Charlie and Rosie, the name Annie is one I keep going back too but also have Katie and Sophie, what’s everyone’s thoughts

OP posts:

I really like all of these. Sophie is my favourite but Annie is great too.

LivingTheDreamish · 09/11/2025 16:46

I like Annie best OP. Lovely name.

PivotPivotmakingmargaritas · 09/11/2025 16:46

Sophie 100%

mamaduckbone · 09/11/2025 16:47

Annie is my favourite out of those. Not used as much as the others

NotanNHSnurseanymore · 09/11/2025 16:53

Just makes me think of that truly awful musical. And I'm not a fan of nn being used as formal first names.

Berlinlover · 09/11/2025 16:58

Annie was my Nana’s name, I love it.

Secondwifenotsecondbest · 09/11/2025 16:59

Elodie/Elsie/Debbie/Lottie/Georgie

All are gorgeous names, see which suits her when she’s born! Annie is my favourite personally, but Katie and Sophie are great names too - you can’t go wrong 😊

deeahgwitch · 09/11/2025 17:09

I really dislike Annie.
Sorry @MumDSDD
Katie is much nicer.
Elsie is lovely.
As is Rosie.

LifeBeginsToday · 09/11/2025 17:15

Annie are you OK? Are you OK? Are you OK Annie?

It's a lovely name but I sing this every time.

dontforgettofloss · 09/11/2025 17:23

I know some little Annie’s, it’s a beautiful name

DustySonofAPreacher · 09/11/2025 17:25

I have name changed especially. My name is related to Annie and Annie has been used as a nickname throughout my life and I LOATHE it. (Probably doesn’t help I have red curls.) I’d I had a £ for every bloody person who sings the sun will come out tomorrow or it’s a hard knock life at me, I would be rich and retired! It still happens however, I now glare and ignore it. Possibly okay if your DD does not have red hair, but if she shows slightest tint or curls, I would avoid!

HugoYorway · 09/11/2025 18:10

I like Annie @MumDSDD . I like Katie but prefer Kate and I like Sophie but there are so many Sophias and Sofias.
I don't like Elsie.

deeahgwitch · 09/11/2025 18:37

I like Sally and I think it goes with your dd’s name Rosie

HugoYorway · 09/11/2025 19:23

I like Sally too.

roshi42 · 09/11/2025 19:40

Really like Annie. Feels refreshingly old fashioned in a different way to the current trend. Would be cute on a little baby 🥰

Hoppinggreen · 09/11/2025 19:43

I like Annie and also Connie

Snugglemonkey · 09/11/2025 19:46

Annie

BitterTits · 09/11/2025 19:46

They're all ok but I'd consider a deliberate move away from an -ie ending personally. Seems a bit twee.

TotallyFloored · 09/11/2025 19:47

I love Annie - and it’s not really common / popular either, classic but rare these days.

husbandcallsmepickle · 09/11/2025 19:48

Amelie was the first name I thought of

Completely agree with this!

If you are set on having the same ending though, Annie is sweet but like one of the PPs, I'm also not a huge fan of nicknames as formal names. Sophie is a lovely name.

Firebird83 · 09/11/2025 21:52

Annie is lovely and goes so well with the other names. Much nicer than Katie and Sophie.

CJones11 · 09/11/2025 21:55

Annie is gorgeous!

sesquipedalian · 09/11/2025 21:56

They’re all lovely names, OP, but if you keep going back to Annie, stick with it.
