baby due in 5 days, don’t yet have a name, want it to be traditional and end in ie as I already have a Charlie and Rosie, the name Annie is one I keep going back too but also have Katie and Sophie, what’s everyone’s thoughts

I love Annie it’s not that common - as in often used for babies born in the present.
I also love Elodie because I have one.

@Jamfirstest ,did you not love it before naming your baby?

@MumDSDD , how about Sadie?

APatternGrammar · 12/11/2025 10:57

I wouldn't match the ending. Anne, Anna, Kate or Sophia would be nice.

Karatema · 12/11/2025 13:28

Whatever you decide, wait until she arrives 😀

So our little girl arrived by c section on November 14th, very chunky at 9lb 12oz and as much as I was set on the name Annie she just isn’t a Annie 🙁 my husband and son are now more towards Katie,

Congratulations OP!

Congratulations, OP.

My niece is Katie, so I am biased but I think it’s lovely.

Her sister is Lucie, and my other niece is Minnie, so we are a family of ie names too.

Lulu1919 · 16/11/2025 08:54

Annie is a lovely name.

Craftysue · 16/11/2025 09:11

Congratulations
Sometimes they don't look like the name you picked out.
My friend is Katie but prefers to be called Kate now she's older

TappyGilmore · 16/11/2025 09:29

Congrats OP! I was going to say before I read your update that Katie was my favourite out of those names.
I don’t like Annie that much, which is funny because I LOVE the musical Annie, but as a name not so much.

Congratulations OP!
There is nothing wrong with any of the names suggested, even if they wouldn't all be my pick- things would get confusing if we all had the same tastes!
I wouldn't rule out y endings, keeping the sound the same.

Milly
Molly
Poppy
Polly
Emily
Kallie
Connie

Babies don't look like anything much when they're first born in my opinion!! If you were to go with Annie I'm sure she would really suit it as she grows up. However your other options of Katie and Sophie are both beautiful too. Congratulations!

Calliopespa · 18/11/2025 23:43

I like Katie. Personally I'd call her Katherine on BC but that's because I like a name that shortens.

Alexandrine · 20/11/2025 01:46

Congrats OP. If you are still debating, then personally I’d go for Annie (not sure any baby really suits a name? They are so cute they should all be called Pip or Bean) or Sophie as those two feel a bit more current to me, more like your other kids names. Katie is pretty but I feel like every other girl had that name at my school in the late 80’s/90’s - although of course she can easily shorten it to the more classic Kate.

MumChp · 20/11/2025 02:02

Katie os nice!
I loke Nellie too.
