I love it and I like all your other names too x

3luckystars · 15/10/2025 09:04

Sorry except Bonnie, I have a reason for that but I don’t like the name.

DappledThings · 15/10/2025 09:05

Romy is ok. Will always associate it with lying about investing post-its though.

Michaelah · 15/10/2025 09:06

I don’t think it sound like a proper name

boxofbuttons · 15/10/2025 09:09

Romy is one of my favourite girl's names!

NorthernDancer · 15/10/2025 09:10

Best of the bunch!

statetrooperstacey · 15/10/2025 09:11

Romy is lovely, the world doesn’t need any more maggots.

Beamur · 15/10/2025 09:12

Romy is lovely. Sweet little girl name but not too cutesy for an adult.
Really like all of your choices - I love Ava but it's incredibly popular. I know about a gazillion Ava/Eva/Ada girls.

fluffiphlox · 15/10/2025 09:13

Just makes me think of Romy Schneider and her rather unhappy life.

Danioyellow · 15/10/2025 09:13

Maggots?
I like the name, unfortunately the 3 I’ve ever known have been little horrors, sure that’s nothing to do with the name though 😂

Who? No disrespect to this person, but I've never heard of them.

I suspect you are a lot younger than I am. She was a French German actress. She’s worth a Google.

LivingwithHopenowandforever · 15/10/2025 09:23

What about Elahi or Remy?

deeahgwitch · 15/10/2025 09:28

It’s lovely as are Daisy, Marnie and Esme.
i’ve only heard of a new baby Marnie recently.

TenThousandSpoons00 · 15/10/2025 09:35

Romy is great. I like it short for Rosemary.

LeopardsANeutral · 15/10/2025 09:37

Romy is great! I know an absolutely lovely one. It's not too commonly heard of, but known enough to not be odd. It's my favourite from your list.

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 15/10/2025 10:03

I like Romy and Bonnie.

Suednymph · 15/10/2025 10:05

I like it for a girl yes but it does sound more like a cutsie nickname. The only Romy I have met is a boy though.

MiddleAgedDread · 15/10/2025 11:02

I prefer everything else on your list apart from Bonnie (which should only be used for Golden Retrievers).
Is it Row-me, Raw-me, Rom-me, Roo-me??

Emanwenym · 15/10/2025 11:11

I don't really like any of them, but Daisy is ok.
Then Orla or Romy.
Ditch the rest.

Romy - not keen. Schneider
Ava - overused and I don't see the appeal
Daisy - ok, a bit twee
Marnie - ok, Hitchcock film
Margot - maggot
Bonnie - Stan, Tyler
Eden - Former PM's surname. Not keen
Esme - Essmy or Ezmae?
Orla - nice in an Irish accent

Emanwenym · 15/10/2025 11:50

@MiddleAgedDread , it's like Rome with a y on the end.

modgepodge · 15/10/2025 11:54

I’m not sure how to pronounce it? It is like Rome with an ee sound at the end, or does it rhyme with tommy?

what about romilly? Romy as a nickname? I like all your other choices though.

RawBaby · 15/10/2025 11:57

I quite like it, but yes to pps' associating it with Post-Its and Romy Schneider (who I think was christened Rosemarie).

Not Bonnie, and not Orla if she will grow up with and surrounded by non-rhotic accents. I like Ava best of your other options.

Lifeisnotalwaysfair · 15/10/2025 12:02

All of except Bonnie which sounds like a pet name. Or a nickname. And people will expect her to be a bonny child.
