Ideally out of the top 150. Not. Finding out the gender.

Already have an Ezra (wasn’t as popular at the time).

So far, I have

Calliope (Callie)
Juniper
Amara
Rosalina
Melody
Juliet (but fine like Jules)
Malin
Arizona (rogue I know, but I just love it)
Theadora (Thea)
Noelle
Celeste
Meredith

Koa
Cassius
Sonny (love, but too popular)
Rowan (same as above)
Marley
Sullivan (Sully)
Casey
Zander
Ari
Remy

I prefer softer sounding, or unisex boy’s names.

I like all of these names, but none feel like the one!

Lesley isnt in top 150 and is unisex.

Remember this is persons name they will have for their life, not an opportunity for you to show how unique you are.

I’m so glad you’ve told me this, I thought I was giving a temporary name to a ferret.

Are you a Grey’s Anatomy fan? Meredith, Arizona and Calliope?!!

from your list I like Celeste and Meredith for girls and Rowan for a boy. Some other ideas:

Meriel - have only ever met one and she is lovely
Honor/Patience/Constance/Verity - I like the ‘virtue’ names
Loveday
Lettice
Artemis (could be used for a boy too)
Elodie
Hero
Juniper/Juno

Lysander (could be Zander)
Hugo
Duncan
Rohan (similar to Rowan)
Caleb
Jebediah
Vernon/Viktor

They haven't really gone for unique in the list. Most are to be found in schools, nurseries etc. None of them would remotely stand out in class registers etc.

OP, I'd say Juniper is going to be quite popular soon. I'd choose Calliope or Juliet from your list, both lovely. Also like Seraphina, Persephone, Miriam, Marianne.

For boys I'd go Cassius, although I prefer Caspar or Caspian.
I know girls called Remi as well as boys called Remy so maybe avoid if you're looking for less common.

Love Callie and Malin and sully for a boy.

MN is a weird place where unless you have a burning traditional name you’ll get ripped to shreds x

Nova?
I love Malin too. Knew a Malin years ago. She was Swedish.

PanderBare · 17/09/2025 14:25

Most of your suggestions are ordinary or not very nice.

Verity sounds a bit like ferrety, so Verity or Jill for a girl. A baby ferret is a kit, so Kit for a boy.

I have an Arie. When he was little and said his name people did think he was saying Harry or Ollie, but he and I both love the name.

I also like Sol

Juniper, Juliet and Thea
Rowan

Do you like Robin/Robyn, unisex and not super popular?

user2848502016 · 17/09/2025 14:46

Also Wren perhaps? Fairly unisex although I prefer if for a girl personally
