I've worked in schools where fairly unusual names seemed to be the norm, including Angels and Kaias. Other girls with unusual names that I came across included: Avaya, Lois, Raya, Destiny, Amara, Chanel, Paisley, Serayah, Peace, Shayla, Anaya, Malykah, Amina, Madonna, Bianca, Mairead, Leia, Elvie, Oshan, Kitty, Lyla, Rhea/Ria, Gabriella, Faith, Aysha, Persephone, Chantelle, Rosa, Nina, Hermione, Fenna, Chanise, Parise, Ciana, Ilinka, Kirsten, Tiana, Riley, Chennai, Chantal, Aurelia, Storm, Taya, Karma, Cerise, Chaide, Tigerlily, Chardonnay, etc. I am not promoting all of these as names for your impending DD, but some might be of interest to you.

With this being MN, I'm surprised that nobody has yet suggested perusing lists of Chalet Schoolgirl names... Elisaveta, Emerence or Evadne, anyone?

I put Elisaveta and Evadne on my list ... Richenda, Josette and Irma too! 😉Yes, Chalet School is exactly where they came from. 😆

If you don't like anything suggested so far, maybe we're going too unusual? How about a well recognised but currently underused name like:
Amanda, Ailsa, Annemarie, Anika, April, Bryony, Bronte, Bronwen, Bridget,
Caroline, Claire, Cerys, Cassandra, Clarissa, Celest, Carmen, Diana,, Devon, Erica, Fiona, Faye, Gloria, Gemma, Hayley, Harmony, Hester, Ida, Inez, Ingrid
Josephine, Jacqueline, Jocelyn, Jade, Joy, Kimberly, Kayleigh, Kelsey, Kirsty, Kirsten, Louise, Louisa, Lillian, Lucinda, Larissa, Leona, Leonie, Melissa, Melanie, Marianne, Nicola, Nikita, Nicole, Natasha, Opal, Olga, Peggy, Roxanne, Rachel, Rosemary, Shannon, Sian, Sinead, Tanya, Tiffany, Veronica,
Yvette

They aren't unique names. You will probably find quite a few of them. Kaia especially is very commonplace.

Ángel is a common boy's name in Spanish speaking countries.

Unique means no one else has the name so you'll have to make something up.

Did you mean unique or just rare.

Ive never met an Araminta. Minty for short?

I’ve always liked short and simple names that still feel a bit unique. Maybe something like Nova, Isla, Zaya, or Liora? They’re easy to say but not super common. Also, sometimes old-fashioned names like Esme or Selah feel fresh again.

Isla? Esme? Fresh again?!

You don't have young DC, do you 😆
