Baby girl names… peach?

PollyD123 · 13/08/2025 15:10

I’m due in a few weeks with a baby girl and struggling to find a name. I’ve swapped it constantly throughout the months and just don’t like anything. I was recently set on Lena but have realised how common it actually is, which puts me off a little bit. I recently heard the name peach and absolutely love it but after reading a lot of forums people seem to think it’s silly? I know it doesn’t matter what other people think but I don’t know if it’s too out there?! Thoughts?

Sounds to me more like a term of endearment than an actual name.

Take it easy OP, you're sounding like a right🍑

I’ve done nothing but take it easy. I think the ones that need to take it easy are the ones saying a child is being neglected because of a name 😂

Everyone thinks different don’t they. I personally can’t stand Jayden/kayden and whatever else but again, that’s just my opinion.

Yeah you are totally right. Funnily enough I have kids in school and don’t know a Jayden or Kayden. May be geographical too as people can hear a name and then think that’s nice and use it.

Soccermom2020 · 13/08/2025 19:31

I think peach is a nickname I actually know a girl who has a different name but nicknamed peach I'd go for something else that's my opinion on it though

Absolutely! The world would be a boring place if everyone liked the same

Ok so why did your OP say 'I don’t know if it’s too out there?! Thoughts?' Do you want other people's input or not?

vixen996 · 13/08/2025 19:59

For the love of god, no 🫣

heroinechic · 13/08/2025 20:00

How about the name Vida? We considered it for our DD but ended up preferring something else

YouSaidWhaaat · 13/08/2025 20:13

Peach 😂

Lena or Marlena sounds way better than Peach!

OxfordQuestion · 13/08/2025 20:18

No

OxfordQuestion · 13/08/2025 20:19

I’ve never met a baby Lena. Where are you op?

SwayingInTime · 13/08/2025 20:20

Stripper name

Gloschick · 13/08/2025 20:20

As you say, your dd being loved etc is the most important thing. It isn't important to give your child a super rare name. I know you feel people on here are being mean, but they are a representation of how society might react when your dd says her name. You might like it, but she needs to live with it for the next 80 years. I wouldn't burden her with that.
Lena is a lovely name, and not too common. If you feel it may be too much 'of its time' then Elena is pretty and more timeless, and goes with the Spanish surnames. Also more options for nicknames.

OxfordQuestion · 13/08/2025 20:21

How about:

Mila
Lila
Lara
Lilly
Lucia
Leah

instead?

Jllllllll · 13/08/2025 20:22

Have you only chosen 2 names? Neither are great but that only my opinion

Wolfpa · 13/08/2025 20:28

Go to your front door and shout Peach as if you are calling her in from playing and see how you feel when doing it. If you feel fine then it is probably ok. If you feel silly it’s a sign not to do it.

DinoLil · 13/08/2025 20:38

Of all the beautiful names out there, you're thinking about naming your child after a furry fruit that looks like an arse???

So sick of repeating myself. Yes, I wanted opinions but didn’t realise the amount of bitchy vicious comments I would get. I welcome different opinions but do not welcome pure nastiness which a lot of these replies have been.

People have different ideas of the word beautiful. What one person finds beautiful another may not. If people want to sexualise a peach well that’s on them, I find that weird myself, not the name.

See how easy it is to give an opinion and not be spiteful? Other users may want to take some lessons.

Yes it’s just made me realise how spiteful people are, I’m quite shocked at some of the replies but as you say, these people do actually exist.
