I'm surprised at some of those being so low, but Dot is usually short for Dorothy, so not surprised about that one.

Actually I just checked and it's the Ottillie spelling that's under 50. Ottilie is at number 69 in the chart with 663 entries, so I'll scrub that one!

Interesting. I mean you can understand it with a name like Gladys (is there any Gladys under about 90?) but I am surprised to see names like Ramona and especially Tess on there, which seem to be mentioned fairly frequently in the baby names section. Plus names that were very popular 20-35 years ago, like Natasha.

Still you could have 49 babies with one of those names, which is still something.

Most of those names are really lovely and definitely much more memorable than the overused top 100 names!

I know a baby Valerie and a baby Sally!

Both my daughter’s names are on that list! Not sure what that says. Neither are outrageous names and one was more popular 20 odd years ago. Both very old and classic names.

Of those I think Pamela is the most likely. 🤔

The reason some haven't featured is that they are nicknames. Andie is usually short for something like Andrea (a name I haven't heard on anyone under 50 recently, I think). Beth, Dot, Kate, Sandy, Tess - often nicknames rather than the full name.

A name is uses less than 50 times what is the "top" ranking for 50 times? Is it 110 or is it 1110?
