I cant get my phone to display the statistics

A name is uses less than 50 times what is the "top" ranking for 50 times? Is it 110 or is it 1110?

A name used 50 times would be ranked at number 727 in terms of popularity/most used name.

Very true, my name is on there and I think it's hideous 😄

I'm on there too and I would guess I'm probably one of the hated/ridiculed ones also 😞

nightvisiting · 22/06/2025 08:32

Mine is on there but it was already way out of date when my parents gave it to me.

😄

I've done a boys list as well if you're interested.

Edited

I'd be interested in the boys' list - this stuff fascinates me.

Both my daughter’s names are on that list! Not sure what that says. Neither are outrageous names and one was more popular 20 odd years ago. Both very old and classic names.

Same but they really aren’t out there names, and nor did I try to go for that - at all! I’m really surprised by this list…Thanks OP!

Emanwenym · 22/06/2025 13:02

Those are names that were registered for between 3 and 50 baby girls in 2023.

My name was registered between 3 and 50 times but isn't on OP's list.

But you weren’t born in 2023?!

TempsPerdu · 22/06/2025 13:55

Thank you OP; these are absolutely my kind of names! DD’s is on there, along with most of our shortlist. So much more interesting than all the interchangeable Isla/Eva/Evie/Ava/Aria/Lily/Lila/Lunas.

manicpixieschemegirl · 22/06/2025 14:10

Some gorgeous names on that list! I love these -

Arianne
Eleri
Imelda
Juliana
Lilac
Lumi
Rhiannon
Trinity

I’m slightly perplexed that someone would name their little girl Waverley, though. Perhaps they’re a trainspotter.

mum2jakie · 22/06/2025 14:20

There are some beautiful names there that would fit in with current styles-

Rhiannon
Lorna
Saskia

IsadoraQuagmire · 22/06/2025 15:11

Good, my name's on there. I don't like to share it with too many people.

Emanwenym · 22/06/2025 16:58

@Zebralie , I didn't say I was. What I posted was
My name was registered between 3 and 50 times but isn't on OP's list.

In 2023,somewhere between 3 and 50 baby girls were registered with my first name, but it isn't on OP's list.

CreationNat1on · 22/06/2025 17:30

Names have a 90 year cycle ish. We often name our children after grand parents or great grandparents.

There's thousands of different names with between 3-50 registrations, so I only posted a small sample. The link on my first post will give you the full list though. 😊

Not at all surprised to see my daughter’s name on this list!

HelenCurlyBrown · 22/06/2025 17:34

There are some dreary and awful names on there, so it’s not that surprising.

LindorDoubleChoc · 22/06/2025 17:40

Absolutely fascinating list, thank you for posting it OP Smile

My name is on there and it was common as common could be in my birth year (but that was many years ago!)

There are many timeless names on there, that I rather like, which I can't believe are so unpopular - like Louisa, Caroline, Anne, Heather. I know they're hardly exciting but still I'm surprised.

MsGoodenough · 23/06/2025 21:30

Lots of lovely names on there, including my DD's!

IKnowAristotle · 23/06/2025 21:52

There's absolutely loads of names I love on that list. Two were on my shortlist but DD has a different name - only 5 in the year she was born apparently.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 23/06/2025 22:27

Very suprised Beth is not more used And kitty.

PermanentTemporary · 23/06/2025 22:29

I thought Barbara was having a big comeback.

Really amazed to see Fiona, Judith and Sian on there but I guess they are all quite early 70s names.

HighburyHope · 24/06/2025 05:59

@PermanentTemporary Did Judith peak in the 1970s? That surprises me. I went to school with one Judith (born late 60s) but it felt old-fashioned then. The ones I know of now are friends of my mother, so born in the 1940s.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 24/06/2025 06:07

Some of these are currently popular where I live.

Funny to see Ottilie on the list. Goes to show that Mumsnet is not real life.

ByLimeAnt · 24/06/2025 06:33

Isolde is lovely! But good luck getting people to pronounce it properly!

DH and I loved a particular Anglo-Saxon name for DS but unbelievably difficult to spell ( think ae joined together plus another). We wimped out of it as a first name but it is his middle ( and aged 11 still cannot spell it consistently!!)
