I am absolutely positively stuck in the baby name department for our new baby boy.

Dp has come up with the following and I would appreciate feedback no matter if good or bad

forevercleaning · 22/05/2008 17:08

finlay - lovely
harvey - nice but getting quite popular
kobi - not heard of it, and unsure if i like

learningallthetime · 22/05/2008 17:08

Finley's loverly. Harveys sounds like a chav to me. Same as Kobi/Cobi.

rosealbie · 22/05/2008 17:09

I like Finlay. It is getting quite popular too.

WombFor1More · 22/05/2008 17:09

learningallthetime - I think we're thinking along the same lines!

Finley's alright, don't like the other two.

WombFor1More · 22/05/2008 17:10

Another one is Malachy? (thinks that's how it's spelt )

Tortington · 22/05/2008 17:10

every other kid and his pet gerbil is called harvey or finley - althoughboth nice names its what 'tracey' or 'gary' was to the 70's

in 20 years time instead of 'gary' every other bloke will be harvey.

cobi = naff

BlueDragonfly · 22/05/2008 17:11

harvey woud be pronounced 'Ar-veh' round here so erm no!

cobi sounds like a kind of lettuce although i know i am thinking of Kohl Rabi when i say that!

Finley is the nicest on your list

belgo · 22/05/2008 17:11

DOn't like Harvey.

Finley/Finlay? I'm not sure how you spell it but I like it.

WombFor1More · 22/05/2008 17:11

Ok ladies think I'm going to need some more ideas here. I just can't think of ANY...I hate naming kids....

Finlay is lovely

have you considered Fionn (celtic version) or Flynn?

not sure about codi/Kodi but DO like Bodi or Brodie

if you like Harvey (not to my taste personally) what about Harry, Henry, Archie, Alfie Albert, nn Bertie or Herbie?

have you considered Reuben or Rudy or Rafferty

all of a similar vein to the names you like

good luck

I have never met a Harvey
It is the name of a rabbit though

Finley is so over-used

Cobi/Kobi is just silly sorry

CountessDracula · 22/05/2008 17:13

also think of Harvey Smith
The rudest man ever to mount a horse

WombFor1More · 22/05/2008 17:14

Thanks dizzy but I have suggested a few of those to dp and he is adament he doesn't like them....I can see tears before bed

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 22/05/2008 17:14

Caleb
Corin/Coran
Tadgh
Luca
George
Nico
Noah
Jonah

Finlay is warmish.

Harvey - getting colder

Kobi - freezing

EllenJane · 22/05/2008 17:18

Finlay (spelt this way) is my son's name so obviously I love it! It is popular but not over-used.

Harvey - It's ok.

Kobi/Coby - Eek!!

Tortington · 22/05/2008 17:18

i love jonah.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 22/05/2008 17:19
