I am absolutely positively stuck in the baby name department for our new baby boy.

Dp has come up with the following and I would appreciate feedback no matter if good or bad

I have just phoned dp and told him I'm loving the name Jacob - he didn't say no

We considered Malachi (that was the spelling we looked at anyway!) loved it but wasn't certain about the abbr. Mal or Kai.
Love Harvey, Finlay is gorgeous but so very popular at the moment. Kobi just reminds me of the basketball player!

Piffle · 22/05/2008 17:24

I have a finbar... I like kobi but Cody quite neat too
not Harvey sorry

EllenJane · 22/05/2008 17:24

Hector
Alasdair
Jude
Miles
Caspar

belgo · 22/05/2008 17:26

Luke and Jacob go very well together.

WombFor1More · 22/05/2008 17:26

Ok so his middle name is James no matter what so is Jacob James too much?

OP posts:
GrimmaTheNome · 22/05/2008 17:27

Kobi - I also thought of Kohl Rabi . Or Obi wanker nobi..

Finley is ok, decent abbreviation to Fin ...always consider what a name gets shortened to.

dizzydixies · 22/05/2008 17:28

Luke and Jacob ARE lovely and no I don't think Jacob James is too much as although both 'J' names they don't sound similar at all

you're last name isn't a J though is it?!?

CountessDracula · 22/05/2008 17:28

The Finbar I know is shortened to Barry

WombFor1More · 22/05/2008 17:29

Grimma - "Kobi - I also thought of Kohl Rabi . Or Obi wanker nobi.."

LMAO

Like Finley/Finlay and all other Fins (Finbar, Finton etc). Harvey V popular but not to my taste. Cobi, sorry no. Sounds too American for me.

belgo · 22/05/2008 17:30

Phineaus (sp?) is nice, again I like Fin as a nickname.

HeadFairy · 22/05/2008 17:34

I'm not sure about your original three, Harvey makes me think of the bloke from So Solid, Kobi I just don't like, Finlay is the nicest.

Luca is a great name, but I'm biased cos ds is a Luca.

I love Rocco (hate Madonna for getting it first) but I was a strange little girl and was obssessed with Lord Forte when I was younger (his son is called Rocco) and having an Italian surname I always thought I could get away with it. DH is still holding fast for Enzo though....

HeadFairy · 22/05/2008 17:34

btw, love your name

EllenJane · 22/05/2008 17:34

See, now I would say that Jacob/Jake is very VERY popular and over-used! Nice name though!

Nancy66 · 22/05/2008 18:46

Kobi/Cobi are just awful. Sounds like something out of The Lion King.

Finlay is nice. Although I prefer just Finn.

Far too many Jacobs but it's a nice name.

Amandella · 22/05/2008 18:47

Kobi is awful. The other two are very nice IMO.

Vivace · 22/05/2008 19:11

I know a Kobi, but she's not English and she's female!

cornsilk · 22/05/2008 19:13

Finlay
