I am absolutely positively stuck in the baby name department for our new baby boy.

Dp has come up with the following and I would appreciate feedback no matter if good or bad

Am quite surprised how many people don't like Harvey. I do like it, but I prefer Jacob, although Jacob James doesn't flow as smoothly as Harvey James.

Do pop over to ante-natal and say hello at some point - we haven't seen you there for ages!

nancy75 · 22/05/2008 20:59

itsnt kobi a type of beef?

Squirdle · 22/05/2008 21:01

I have a nephew called Harvey and my SIL and family are definately not chav! I also know a Cobi who is very sweet.

Caleb is a very cool name, but I am biased as DS2 is Caleb, and Jacob is DS3 middle name, so love it.

janeite · 22/05/2008 21:02

Harvey and Kobi are terrible sorry; Finlay (with an "a") is sweet but getting very, very popular. Jacob is lovely but I'm not convinced by Jacob James. Would you not consider James for a first name? Luke and James sound very nice together.

ShowOfHands · 22/05/2008 21:08

Colin

WombFor1More · 22/05/2008 21:12

James is dp name and his dads name so think that might be pushing it a bit!

Ho hum back to the drawing board but at this rate it looks like it's still going to be Jacob or Harvey

HonoriaGlossop · 22/05/2008 21:16

Dominic James sounds nice

HonoriaGlossop · 22/05/2008 21:17

or Oscar?

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/05/2008 21:19

Dominic is fab name. On our contenders list if this one is a boy.

HonoriaGlossop · 22/05/2008 21:25

I knew a Dominic at college - absolutely gorgeous he was

played guitar, had all the girls swooning

Can't THINK why I suddenly remembered him

Dom for short is nice too I think - v cool name

DeeRiguer · 22/05/2008 21:28

herbie like herbie
or herbal
not mad on harvey

serin · 22/05/2008 21:30

Out of the original three I prefer Finlay (or Finn) and I don't know any at all!

You could always shorten Jacob James to JJ.

cheesesarnie · 22/05/2008 21:33

finlay!
and i love jacob.

brimfull · 22/05/2008 21:35

Finley nice
Harvey ok
Cobi -sounds like a made up name, don't like it

ElizabethBeresford · 22/05/2008 21:38

I could say ok to Coby if it were spelt with a c and were a nn for Jacob.

Harvey.... not a baaaad name, but nmsaa

Finlay - a good name. Not rare anymore.

Malachy, oh the best by far. Run with this one!

Malachy or Jacob/Coby.

purpleduck · 22/05/2008 21:42

My friend has a little boy called Kobe (rhymes with moby)
It isn't unusual in canada

I LOOOOVE Malachi

as in MAL A KYE Right?

Love it

ElizabethBeresford · 22/05/2008 21:50

MALakee.

Emphasis on first syllable.

It's Irish isn't it? What does it mean? Tell me it's not gaelic for Malcolm, cos that's gonna put me off a little

SweetieD · 22/05/2008 21:54

Love Finley

Also Malachi, Caleb and Jacob are fab

Pen74 · 22/05/2008 23:19

Finlay and Jacob are strong handsome names. Harvey is not too offensive - but Kobi is.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 23/05/2008 13:08

Our Dominic is now 8. He's the only Dominic is his school AFAIK (>400 children, SW London). He's gorgeous but doesn't play the guitar, although he's been showing some interest in drums. His name is nowadays shortened to Dom.

bebespain · 23/05/2008 20:11

I don´t like any - sorry womb!

Love Dominic Cristina that was the only other boys name I had!

learningallthetime · 23/05/2008 20:13

I like Tristan James
