everly · 06/06/2025 22:51

As the title states, please choose which two you like best for twins.

Margot
Audrey
Sylvie

Just to clarify, I am not looking for any other name suggestions.

Thanks

Not in inner city Manchester it isn't! Come across one, spelled "Margeaux".

Might be popular elsewhere!

Margaux is a wine. I have also come across this but don’t really like the association. It’s a bit like all those Labradors called Bollinger.

I knew three little girls called Faye, Sylvia and Margot. They were incredibly cute. Their names definitely went well together and suited them.

HiRen · 07/06/2025 14:01

I’ve never liked Sylvie, it’s a word that sounds like the parents couldn’t be bothered.

I like both Margot and Audrey.

Also important not to pick on the basis of “matching” just because they’re twins. Each name has to stand alone.

JillyGiraffe · 07/06/2025 14:02

Audrey and Sylvie - both less common and sound perfect for twins. I know of quite a few Maggots.

shedroof · 07/06/2025 14:06

Audrey and Sylvie. Margot too popular now, I know a few babies /toddlers.

Those are Penelope Keith character names - Audrey and Margot! Her BFFs were called Barbara and Marjory. I love them all.

Maggot is an unusual name choice. Surprised you know a few.

Margo and Sylvia (don’t like Sylvie). Not keen on Audrey either.

Ah, I met a little toddler Audrey the other day, very sweet she was. Suited her name. And I imagine will carry her well into adulthood.

Oh gosh! I’ll try and edit that now! (edit - I can’t!)

Audrey and Sylvie.

Margot and Audrey. Then Audrey and Sylvie (even though I don't particularly like Sylvie).

You really really can't use Margot and Sylvie, they will forever be known as M&S.

M and A is mergers and Aquisitions in finance/law … but I don’t see that’s an issue. M snd S I agree is not great; S and M is possibly worse …

Sleepnplay · 08/06/2025 17:00

Audrey and Sylvie. I really really dislike Margot, so an easy choice for me.

anon4net · 08/06/2025 17:54

Margot and Sylvie would be the only option for me. Classic, not too popular, pretty and not harsh to say.

Either of them paired with Audrey just feels too much. I also think there would be name envy towards their twin, unless you used a nickname. The two child/tween Audrey's I know go by Audie (and will never allow her full name to be used) and Aubrey - tries to convince teachers that the d is a b.

I don't dislike Audrey but would only do it as a middle name.
