everly · 06/06/2025 22:51

As the title states, please choose which two you like best for twins.

Margot
Audrey
Sylvie

Just to clarify, I am not looking for any other name suggestions.

Thanks

Please none

Margot and Sylvie from me too. Not a fan of Audrey really.

SnowFrogJelly · 06/06/2025 23:44

Anything but Audrey

Tinytotdriver · 06/06/2025 23:46

To me:

Margot & Sylvie sound the best together

Margot & Audrey look the best together

RickiRaccoon · 07/06/2025 00:34

They're all nice names. I'd just avoid having two ee endings together so Margot and either other.

JacketPotatoAvecFromage · 07/06/2025 00:38

Sylvie and Margot, in that order.

tinyspiny · 07/06/2025 00:41

Margot and Sylvie , Audrey is really dreary .

Audrey and Margot, then see if Penelope Keith would like to be their godmother 😉

Firsttimebabymummy · 07/06/2025 06:23

Margot and Sylvie.

Audrey and Sylvie

Yes! Same.

Imagine which name, out of those you would least want for yourself then let that one go. Personally, I’d leave Margot. It’s quirky but reminiscent of Margaret which feels harder and less feminine to me. Audrey & Sylvie are two of my all time fave names. Stunning & id be happy to be called either myself.

Moreteaandchocolate · 07/06/2025 06:58

Margot and Audrey go perfectly together.

Margot and Sylvie are close runners up.

Mumofgirls2017 · 07/06/2025 08:38

Margot and Sylvie

Jennifershuffles · 07/06/2025 08:50

I love Sylvie.
Margot & Sylvie because two ee sounds won't sound as good together when you're shouting for them to leave the playground.

Pinty · 07/06/2025 08:51

Audrey and Sylvie
Congratulations!

Ha ! Penelope Keith was my first thought too.
But I don't expect any young people would know the connection

Buffypaws · 07/06/2025 08:53

I came to say Margot and Audrey but having read the arguments I’ve switched to Margot and Sylvie. Maybe Audrey only works if you look like Audrey Hepburn.

Goandygo · 07/06/2025 08:55

Margot and Sylvie —both very chic Fifties-style names! Both elegant and pretty.

Audrey for me is just far too elderly-lady for a cute toddler! And doesn’t quite fit the style of the other two.

Audrey and Sylvie.

Margot is a horrible name, much too close to maggot to read and makes you sound languid and posh. I can't imagine being a student arriving at uni saying "Hi, I'm Margot" without sounding ridiculous. But I am Northern and it's not a commonly used name around here so it sounds pretentious to my ears (I work with kids so tend to know what names are around).

Audrey I like and don't understand the hate on here, but alternatives might be Audra, Aurelia?

Sylvie is pretty. The ones I know have sisters called Silke (pronounced Silk-a), Rhoda and Lily.

CrumpledTShirt · 07/06/2025 09:04

Really don't like Margot.

Sylvie and Audrey ( and I know you don't want other name suggestions, but to avoid the ‘ee’ sound at the end of both) Audra.

Pemba · 07/06/2025 09:07

Audrey and Sylvie!

Margot is having a wave of popularity right now, but I just can't see it. Like others I think of the character on 'The Good Life', plus it looks a bit like maggot written down, although obviously doesn't sound like it. I don't hate it but lacks appeal to me. I actually would prefer Margery/Marjorie I think, if I could get rid of the old lady associations.

Audrey is elegant like a pp said, I think of Audrey Hepburn and also Audrey Horne in 'Twin Peaks' who was a teenager. So it's not just an old lady name to me.

Audrey and Sylvie go well together, Margot might be a bit of a flash in the pan.

Calliopespa · 07/06/2025 09:07

Margot and Audrey to me have the same ladylike vibe: I definitely think of Audrey Hepburn!

I don’t think Audrey and Sylvie work as well as too many “ee” sounds.
