We've decided on a middle name - but how to spell it ?!?!

We both love the name Anabel so it's in! However I have no idea how to spell it as there are so many ways.

MN jury, which one do you think is best? What is the most regular way of spelling it??

  1. Annabelle (too poncy?)
  2. Annabell
  3. Anabel (not finished??)
  4. Anabell
  5. Anabelle (weird?)

I agree with VG, 2nd post.

I would spell it Annabelle. Like the nightclub. No matter how you spell it, isn't it a bit pseudo-posh?

I prefer Anna or Bella or Isabel, if you like the 3 syll. thing.

root veg Fio. (hope not out of turn, don't think it was a hidey name-change, more a fun thing)

onebatmother · 20/05/2008 13:03

lol Brass (you see - even the diminutive is all Roman and vulgar)...
Please come back to the middle of the road, and bring your earthy name with you.
Yes I did notice Threadie's back with her extra w. Where is she?
I want to suggest Threadwerm. It's got a gutteral germanic-ness which might appeal.

BrassicaNapusNapobrassica · 20/05/2008 13:03

I'm a bit sensitive about it as I have a bit of a hooray name.

onebatmother · 20/05/2008 13:04

(sorry for hijack lollipop)

onebatmother · 20/05/2008 13:05

no your vegetable name I mean. Swedes! (your real name isn't Hooray, it's lovely)

BrassicaNapusNapobrassica · 20/05/2008 13:06

In real life I mean. I'm perhaps sensitive about Annabelle not because I dislike it but because it might be considered a bit hooray. Maybe?

VictorianSqualor · 20/05/2008 13:08

Is it Sequoia?

Christiania · 20/05/2008 13:08

I thought it was spelt Chalmondelay.
or Fruitcake.

There's no need for correlation these days.
