Ideas for boy/girl twins?

Preferably a bit Celtic as our ds's have scottish names. Our surname ends in 'son' so unfortunately can't use ones like Madison which I know isn't Scottish but I like!
To be even more difficult, nothing beginning with C/E/F or K as I'll get too confused with the rest of us!

Can't believe how many names you've all come up with! Really sweet hearing the names you've given your twins terrier and stroppy. We've visitors at present so haven't shown list to dp yet but will this weekend.

ElizabethBeresford · 21/05/2008 16:26

Sorry, I gave you some C names.

I like Douglas too. Doogie is so cool. People have said, doogie howser in response but I've no idea who or what that is.

Duncan is quite nice. Duncan and Patrick are very distinguished celtic names imo.

Bruce could be the next Gus. Fergus could be Gus, or the whole name Fergus. love that.

SoMuchToBits · 21/05/2008 16:30

Mairi
Shona
Elspeth
Morag
Kirsty

Gregor
Euan
Alistair
Hamish
Dougal

Please, please, please, whatever you do, don't call them names beginning with the same initial. It's just so "twinny" and won't help your dcs to have their own identities. I am speaking from alliterative twinny experience here!

Greensleeves · 21/05/2008 16:39

Bethany is Celtic, it's Welsh

ElizabethBeresford · 21/05/2008 16:43

Bethany is a place in Israel and Bethan is Welsh for Elisabeth (I think)

accessorizequeen · 21/05/2008 22:06

Thanks all, again! Somuch, wasn't thinking of the same letter, I do agree with you! I think with four kids it would also make it harder...

I know twins called Harris and Tierney. Harris is a scottish island, not sure about Tierney?

bearmama · 22/05/2008 15:32

Sorcha and Seamus (maybe TOO Scottish)

mummaknowsbest · 22/05/2008 15:45

Isla is THE most gorgeous name ever unfortunately dp didn't agree so we have a Freya (nordic not scottish)and for a boy I LOVE Lochlan or Caleb (unsure of spelling)

ElizabethBeresford · 22/05/2008 15:49

Archie and Iona together is lovely.

Skye and Lorcan? Isla and Duncan?

I love that people are using names like Donald and Bruce and Seamus. They are bold choices but really good.

Or have those names always been popular in Scotland?

jk1 · 22/05/2008 15:56

For a link between the 2 names could go for an Island theme:

Sky, Iona, Cara for girls

Lewis, Harris, Arran

mummaknowsbest · 22/05/2008 15:56

I really don't like seamus but really like shaymus shortened to shay, however I think it's Irish not Scottish

ElizabethBeresford · 22/05/2008 16:01

Oh yeas of course. What is Scottish for James??

DforDiva · 22/05/2008 16:02
