I'm very offended at your insulting comments - as though there's somehow something wrong with taking inspiration from the Dulux charts for beautiful baby names.

My sisters are called Moonlight Rhapsody, Sorrento Sunset and Arcadian Meadow. My name is Magnolia Trade-Value-Joblot - and we're as close a family as could be.

Edited

😂😂

Has anyone said Trampette? 🤔

I don't think so - I did have a thought about Tarteflette, which is a bit similar.

Andouilette lends itself to the nickname Sausage :)

Meant to quote @highincalifornia

”You really think people give the names of their real, live children and ask for suggestions and are looking for a laugh? This thread is getting old so please give us your children’s names so I can think of hilarious rhymes and links as you have such a great sense of humour.”

I’d save that pair of names for twins. Tarteflette and Trampette. 🤣

@MossLover

I’m glad you want to keep laughing.
Thea: well obviously you’re just putting this for a laugh as no one would seriously call their little girl Thea with all the million Theos around. You’d have to have zero imagination
But : One look at Thea, you’ll have the fear
Thea will do anything after a beer
Steer clear of Thea
Thea sounds like she’d sell gear
What would you find in the house of frights at the end of the pier? Thea
Thea, sneer, sounds like a stuck up
cow.
Err Thea don’t Leer
Obviously you didn’t choose this name, with all its negative associations and being pronounced Fear half the time, just like op didn’t choose Scarlett and Violett but you’re here to laugh right?

We do run into issues with new people not hearing her name right the first time (“Sia?” “Fia?” etc.) I tend to say “Like Theo, but I with an A at the end,” when correcting them. Neither are particularly common names here.

(Digressive side story: DH and I thought, for her baby shower, that it would be funny to decorate the foyer with green and blue balloons and put up a banner reading Theo {male version of her middle name},” to momentarily confuse attendees before they got to the pink decor in the rest of the house and the banner with the correct name on it… the expressions on their faces and worried glances down at their gifts were priceless!)

And fortunately, where I’m from, people tend to pronounce their Rs, so we don’t have to worry about those kind of slant rhymes.

Oh andouillette is adorable!

I’m tempted to get a sausage dog just to call him this! I love it!

Calliopespa · 10/04/2025 19:37

Operetta? Or does the “a” rule it out?

highincalifornia · 10/04/2025 19:40

@MossLover
Well obviously you don’t need to justify your name choice , or demonstrate your foresight and sense of humour to me. I think Thea is a perfectly great name, just like ( and used only as middle names) Scarlett and Violett. You asked for ridicule OP did not, that was all.
