Alba or Maisie?

Hi, I’m due early May and I still haven’t landed on a name.
These two are my current girl shortlist.

Of the 2, Maisie.

Alba if you're Scottish or have Scottish connections.

Love them both. I think Alba is a bit more unusual 💛

Or Spanish or Italian

Doesn't Alba mean Scotland? Bit like calling a kid Cymru?

How about Anya? Similar to Alba but nicer IMO.

It’s the Scots Gaelic name for Scotland, but I wouldn’t consider it any different than being named India, Paris, etc.

It also means dawn/sunrise in Spanish.

Alba. Maisie is a bit twee and dated.

I like both for different reasons.

Alba- 4 letters and you'd assume easy to spell and pronounce.

Maisie- Might be spelt wrong. Maizy, Mazee etc and would be a lifelong of having to spell it out.

Having said that, I have a simple, 4 letter name, and still spell it out most of the time!

Not keen on Maisie, love the name Alba. Probably influenced by the fact that I know an Alba and she's fabulous

I prefer Alma to Alba, Maisie is also lovely. Sorry that's not much help - but do consider Alma.

Can you imagine a serious lady in a serious job called Maisie?

Maisie I prefer, not keen on Alba, I think I connect it with Curry’s, I think their own brand electricals used to be branded Alba, I am sure I had an Alba stereo & alarm clock.

yes, because we'll have doctors, vets, solicitors, businesspeople, schoolteachers, engineers, politicians etc with names like Archie, Teddy, Evie,Ellie etc

Yes. My old boss when I helped out at a solicitors office was called Maisie.
