My cousin has suggested this as a band for my DD but I hate it. DH said its OK although not his fave. I think it sounds chavy tbh, especially the awful spelling! Thoughts?

I have to agree with you

JessicafelloffTheKnappett · 12/01/2025 17:03

Why is your cousin suggesting names for your daughter? The only people who should have input is you and her father.

Giggorata · 12/01/2025 17:03

This is a joke, surely?

BingoLarge · 12/01/2025 17:03

Why are you even considering it if you don’t like it and your husband isn’t fussed? (It’s terrible btw.)

KerryBlues · 12/01/2025 17:03

You hate it (as will everyone else), so just ignore 🤷🏻‍♀️

12purplepencils · 12/01/2025 17:03

I think it would be nicer with an extra i at the end of Lexi so like Lexii
i like that spelling of Payje it’s really uneek

FatFiatMultiplaWhopper · 12/01/2025 17:03

Really?

Really?

No definitely not really. This is some lame mumsnet bait

Onekidnoclue · 12/01/2025 17:04

Golly. Not my taste but names are so loaded with meaning and memories they’re very tough. If that’s what he has his heart set on could you compromise on Alexandra Page Surname? Then he could call her Lexi and or Page?
I don’t think unusual spelling add anything except confusion.

BobbyBiscuits · 12/01/2025 17:04

No. Spelling is weird and no need for the hyphen.
Could she be Alexis Paige just first and middle name? Or Alix, or Alexandra. I guess Alexa is out now. Shame as it's quite nice.

MyDeepZebra · 12/01/2025 17:04

Hideous.

Alexia Paige or Alexandra Paige aren't awful though.

Wilfrida1 · 12/01/2025 17:05

Chavtastic!

Hoppinggreen · 12/01/2025 17:07

Spell it Leckziiii Payeegz instead and go for it

MyDeepZebra · 12/01/2025 17:08

On second thoughts...I LOVE it in a Wigan accent.

Lekseh Purge

CandyLeBonBon · 12/01/2025 17:14

Brilliant. Do it OP. Absolutely top notch idea!

KevinAndTracy · 12/01/2025 17:16

It's dreadful

Miloarmadillo2 · 12/01/2025 17:18

WTF has it got to do with your cousin? The only people who get a say are you and baby’s father. (Just as well)

Love this. Such a shame my baby days are over, I'd definitely be naming my child this.

Could even work as unisex?

YeGodsandLittleFishies · 12/01/2025 17:23

You don’t like it and neither does your DH - surely that’s the end of the conversation?

What anyone else thinks is irrelevant.

DrEggman · 12/01/2025 17:54

It would get said Lechseh Paiyej where I am. Maybe try that spelling?

I work with kids and we never roll our eyes at some names. Honest.

Tinselinthewhoopsiebasket · 12/01/2025 17:56

I saw a girl with an embroidered coat yesterday..
Ayda - Jae...
Poor kid.

Needmorelego · 12/01/2025 17:59

Ok a non piss take comment.....
Lexie is fine. Usually a shortening of Alexandra/Alexis/Alexa.
Paige is fine - if spelt that way.
No need for it to be double barreled.
First name and middle name is fine.

yorktown · 12/01/2025 18:00

Excellent name for a band, would you consider Lexy's midnight payjes?
