Thoughts on Stella?

My husband absolutely loves it, I like it and also can’t come up with anything else.

What are people’s thoughts on it? Any middle name suggestions?

Also very aware of the lager association but I don’t think any of our friends/family would mention it even if they thought it to themselves.

Stella is lovely but seems quite dated. Could Estelle be an option? Or other similar vibe names you might also like:

My daughter is called Stella. Originally chosen for the Latin meaning of Star. She is 16 now and the name suits her so well. We have never met another Stella and she loves her name.

I think Stella is a lovely choice - it’s familiar but not commonly used and has a simple, pretty sound that works well for all ages.

It’s a nice name but I can’t hear it without thinking of it being shouted in rage in “Streetcar Named Desire”.

But that’s probably not a common thing. Might be just me.

I like Stella but I really love Estella.I'd assume Stella was a shortened version.

My Stella is 24 and she loves her name. She’s never met another Stella of her age. It’s a pretty name. Unusual but not weird.

I think it’s absolutely gorgeous.

It always makes me think of Stella Maris, the star of the sea, the protector.

It was in my top 3 names for my DC. I would use it if I had another baby (menopause, will never happen ) - I love it!

It’s OK, but I can’t not sing “Sheila goes out with her mate Stella” whenever I see it.

I think Stella is a beautiful name. To me it lends itself to classic middle name . Perhaps Stella Margaret

I like it too. It was dh’s granny’s name. One of his nieces got it as a middle name I think.

I’ve always thought that Stella Rimington (erstwhile DG of MI5) has one of the coolest names ever! I’d go for it, if it flows with your surname.

I love it, although like a PP it does remind me of streetcar named desire 😁

I really like it - like how strong it feels amidst all the vowelly, delicate names that are popular at the moment, and the lovely meaning. I also think of Stella Maris, rather than the lager! A definite yes from me.
