What do we think of the name Decovan? I had never heard of it before but know of one who is in his early twenties. The more I think about the name the more I like it? Has anyone heard of it before ?

Never heard of it. It doesn't sound great.

MumChp · 13/10/2024 15:29

Just no.

Stormyweatheroutthere · 13/10/2024 15:29

Is your dh a painter and decorator?

Berlinlover · 13/10/2024 15:30

Awful.

Moreteaandchocolate · 13/10/2024 15:30

Sorry not keen. Dec is nice for short, but Declan is nicer as a full name imo.

Brandyb · 13/10/2024 15:30

Sounds like a van decorating company to me, sorry! But if you like it, use it! They will have an unusual name which will be nice

TheYearOfSmallThings · 13/10/2024 15:31

It isn't a name (except of a builders merchant in Sao Paolo, and even then it is referring to their stock and not the proprietor)

BeautyPageantDropout · 13/10/2024 15:31

Sounds like a brand name for a birth control

ineedteanownotlater · 13/10/2024 15:31

What about Deacon instead?

RightOnTheEdge · 13/10/2024 15:32

I've never heard of it. I don't really like the sound of it.

Eviebeans · 13/10/2024 15:33

What about Donovan

Rarebitten · 13/10/2024 15:34

Decovan sounds like a ‘man with a van’ called Declan, Deco to his friends, who’s available for small removal jobs.

shoopshoopdedoo · 13/10/2024 15:40

No.
I love Declan, though

menopausalmare · 13/10/2024 15:41

Trying too hard to be different. It's a no from me.

Notaflippinclue · 13/10/2024 16:07

Nope

Needmorelego · 13/10/2024 16:09

It does sound a bit like the name of medicine 😬

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 13/10/2024 16:12

😂😂 no

NeverRunAfterAManOrABus · 13/10/2024 16:23

Did you ask him if it had a meaning, or if it was a family name or anything?

amothersinstinct · 13/10/2024 16:30

Sounds like a topical cream for an embarrassing itch

Just choose a normal name FFS

WeeOrcadian · 13/10/2024 16:43

Sounds like a cream for crotch-rot

sadeightiesthrowback · 13/10/2024 16:54

Never heard of it as a first name. Different anyway.
If you like it, hope you give it a lot of consideration before deciding to name your child, if that's what you're doing.

Sounds like a cowboy builder who would rip you off.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 13/10/2024 19:06

Terrible. Sound like a cough mixture.

Tekphobebruvva · 13/10/2024 19:08

For the love of god just why? Would you like to be called that OP?
