I really love it.
Is it the pregnancy hormones? Or is it as great as I think it is?

ABSOLUTELY, she'll be called Fuckie Duckie in her teens and thank you everyday.

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 04/10/2024 19:04

Hopefully the Registrar wouldn't permit it when it comes time to register the birth.

PersephoneAgrees · 04/10/2024 19:06

Call your baby Drake, it's a boy duck, or Hen(rietta) if it's a girl duck. Then he or she can be called Duckie for short and you won't be bestowing a lifetime of misery and pisstaking on the poor little sod.

About 15 years ago I met children called Birdie and Pebble (different families) and thought why would you do that to a person. Birdie was about 2 and her mum did say she was starting g to regret the name.
I also say no to Duckie.

Jemima for Puddleduck? Goosey Gander?

I don’t think you’re supposed to take acid while you’re pregnant.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 04/10/2024 19:15

Is this a typo for Dulcie (perfectly fine name)? Duckie? No.

AIright · 04/10/2024 19:16

Its a beautiful, beautiful nickname
And fine for a baby, but doesn't work well for a grown up..
It wouldn't work well at a board meeting,

What about Dora it's a lovely name and Dora dick or Duckie would be fine for a nickname

Dora Dick isn't much better is it? 😄

How about Doggy?

My first thought too but her mum pointed out her name was Pebble and not Pebbles.

WetBandits · 04/10/2024 19:21

Introduce yourself as Duckie to the next new person you meet. See their reaction. Think about how it would be to get that every time you meet someone for your whole life (well until you are old enough to insist on a different name).
