Anna or Sadie

Apologies for yet another post, I'm due in two days and baby names are all I can think of right now. The replies iv had so far have been really helpful so thank you.

I already have a son called James
Our surname is Green, the Anne of green gables thing doesn't bother me, I'd never heard of it until a few days ago, and I believe it's not a bad association anyhow.

I love the fact Sadie is a little different, not too popular plus easy to pronounce and spell.

I love how equally classic Anna is to James, I'm yet to meet a little Anna but know many adults Anna's which makes me wonder if Anna and James are a little boring to together, however again I like the fact it's easy to pronounce and spell.

What are your thoughts?

Both are pretty. I like that Anna is the same backwards and is more classic. Sadie is a little more unusual, I've met a lot of Annas but only one Sadie.

Sadie is a bit harsh for me - it’s fun, but makes me think of a barmaid with an interesting past..

Anna is a beautiful classic, although with Green I’d go for Annabel just because they sound better together

Well they are very different vibes aren't they, so go with the name that has more of the vibe you're trying to project.

Anna is a beautiful, traditional, timeless classic.

Sadie is a fun, 'modern' diminutive of Sarah.

I've got a Sadie! And I don't know anyone around me or her school who's also named it.

The only Sadie I know is a dog, but it's not a name I'd warm to for a person. Lots of nicer names.

Anna by a country mile, it will suit her as a baby as well as an adult. It's a classic and timeless name that you can't go wrong with.

Anna, definitely. Classic and beautiful, goes very well with James.

Sadie makes me think of sadist / sadism.

I know a couple of little Annas and IMO fits much better with James.

Sadie is a dog’s name to me, too! And the assonance with the “a” between Sadie and James means they don’t sound good together in my opinion
