Lois?

What are your thoughts?

I like strong feminine names, classic, old-fashioned, and not too trendy.

I don't know anyone called Lois in real life but like the association with Lane and noted an Olympian athlete with the same name.

Concerned about risk of frequent mispronunciation. We're not Welsh.

The Lois in my school was a twin. Always felt she got the best name! Lovely girl. Go for it op.

Nicebloomers · 17/08/2024 17:58

Great name!

Moreteaandchocolate · 17/08/2024 17:58

Love it! Great underused classic.

Tigertigertigertiger · 17/08/2024 18:21

Beautiful name

WaitingForMojo · 17/08/2024 18:30

Gorgeous name. But where I live it would be pronounced to rhyme with voice. I much prefer the English pronunciation.

Apollo365 · 17/08/2024 18:31

Love!

Olivia2109 · 17/08/2024 18:34

I love it! I like “older” names for girls and I think it sounds nice too. The “is” sound is lovely at the end. Go for it!!!

I actually really like this. Nice normal name but uncommon! I do know one Lois, but that’s it. I’ve gave that suggestion to my husband but he’s said no to it!

sel2223 · 17/08/2024 19:42

Lovely name.

My friend has a Lois or it'd be on my list too

AutumnalLeaves38 · 17/08/2024 20:16

It's a winner. Really like it for the reasons made by PPs.

GhibliCat · 17/08/2024 20:21

Family guy

LizzieBet14 · 17/08/2024 20:29

Love it.

I know one, who is 10. It’s a beautiful name!

TenThousandSpoons · 17/08/2024 20:38

Lovely!

hazandduck · 17/08/2024 20:47

I love it, even if I do automatically think of Family Guy, Lois is cool so it’s not a bad association!

BibbityBobbityToo · 17/08/2024 20:49

How do you pronounce that? Is it similar to Lewis, Louis or Louise, not a name I have come across before?

Pipecleanerrevival · 17/08/2024 20:50

It’s very cool. I think of Lois Lane

Edited

I've never watched family guy so means nothing to me! 😅

Low-iss is how I’ve always heard it pronounced.

Low-is (with an s rather than a z sound at the end)

Userxyd · 17/08/2024 20:53

Love it, considered it for my DD!

Lonelycrab · 17/08/2024 20:53

I like it.

Sethera · 17/08/2024 20:55

Sanger (not necessarily a bad thing, Patrick liked the look of her).

Firsttimebabymummy · 17/08/2024 21:54

Lovely name

theduchessofspork · 17/08/2024 22:37

I love it

Seems to be getting a little more popular, but still very underused
