Eye - voe

heldinadream · 28/06/2024 08:51

Eye - voe.
Or - if there are Eastern European connections- Eee - voe.

FartSock5000 · 28/06/2024 09:03

Ai-Voh

Procrastinates · 28/06/2024 09:04

Eye - voe

WetBandits · 28/06/2024 09:07

I’ve met one, he was Ghanaian and pronounced it Eye-voe.

familyissues12345 · 28/06/2024 09:11

Strangely I looked at it and straight away said

E - vo

But I reckon it's probably meant to be Eye-vo?

YellowHairband · 28/06/2024 09:12

Eye-voe

But that's probably just because that's how it's pronounced for the comedian Ivo Graham which is the only place I've heard the name. I could see it being Ee-voe (although that sounds a bit like evil).

GoldDuster · 28/06/2024 09:14

Eye Voh

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 28/06/2024 09:18

Eye-vo or ee-vo, depending on where I guessed the person might be from.

WiseBiscuit · 28/06/2024 09:22

I say eye-vo using the same sound as Ivor

We had an Ivor in the family that was eye-vor anyway. He was a dog rather than a human but still.

Caledoniablue · 28/06/2024 09:23

Ee - vo

Popular boys name where I live

GrandShow · 28/06/2024 09:28

Eye Voh

AdaColeman · 28/06/2024 09:31

Ee-vo

The only one I've met used this pronunciation, he was from the Balkans.

MistyHazelFox · 28/06/2024 09:49

EE-vo
common Balkans name, among older generation

Bax765 · 28/06/2024 09:52

Eye-vo

CurlewKate · 28/06/2024 09:58

In Britain it's Eye-vo. At the moment, it's still super-posh. But I predict that it will become popular.

IsadoraQuagmire · 28/06/2024 10:30

Eye-voe

LookingForEnergy · 28/06/2024 10:33

Eye-voe here too.

Teamarugula · 28/06/2024 10:34

I used to know one (British) and he pronounced it eye-vo

Els1e · 28/06/2024 10:34

Ee vo here

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 28/06/2024 09:18

Eye-vo or ee-vo, depending on where I guessed the person might be from.

Exactly.

DappledThings · 28/06/2024 10:36

Eye-vo. Was going to be DD's middle name if she'd been a boy

BingoMarieHeeler · 28/06/2024 10:38

EYE-vo but have known ones called EE-vo. Equally I know an Ivan which I would assume to be EYE-van but he’s an ee-VAN.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 28/06/2024 09:18

Eye-vo or ee-vo, depending on where I guessed the person might be from.

Yes I would do this - take the person’s lead on how they pronounce it.

KirstenBlest · 28/06/2024 23:44

Ee-vo
