Annie short for...?

We're not keen on double first names like Anna-Maria but looking for a nice way to have Annie as a NN.

DD1 has a longer name and is exclusively known by the NN so hoping for something similar. Any ideas?

Well the Annie in my family was actually an Ann so make of that what you will. Anne or Anna are much nicer than the longer option like Annabel which I find too frilly.

I also know an Annabel known as Annie.

To me it’s a name in its own right, but I suppose lots of names could shorten to Annie.

Antonia. So elegant and underused.

I think of is as a pet name for Anne. She may want to use her actual name as an adult, and one-syllable names are strong.

Annabelle. That’s my name and Ive always loved it from childhood!

Ann is my thought too, although not shortened.

The Annie I knew was Anne. Same as Kate, the pet name is Katie. Annabel would work though.
