Names invented by young children

I thought perhaps, to widen the pool of available names, we could share new names that children have made up for their dolls etc.

Today we have twin baby dolls: Argy and Bargy .

They have new names daily, I notably remember Moonie and Vaggie, will try and recall some others.

I'm sure there must be many other gems out there?

We had an owl called Osbert Whatnot.

I have now completely outed myself (hi sis if you're on here).

Oh and we had a cat skimmy and now a cat called Sus

My DD has a girl doll named Alexander, a monkey named Sparkles and a teddy named Oona. Oona is a boy. However, most of her toys are just called Owly the owl, Chicky the chick, Lamby the lamb etc so I'm not sure why these three are special!

My brother had a cuddly rabbit called Robert, he couldn’t say his R’s so he was known as Wobert Wabbit

A plastic giraffe called Batsy, cuddly parrot names Awesome Expert Flyer.

DD has two purple rabbits, the original Purple Rabbit is holding a little blanket, or his coat as DD calls it, so when the second one came along not holding anything he was christened Purple Rabbit Hasn't Got a Coat on Him

I had a pink unicorn with a purple flower on its hip and a silver glittery horn. She was called Alan Witstable.

My kids have had a family of rubber ducks called the Peters, they are Peter, Pelly, Pooper, Pango and Porridge Peters. Also teddys called Fompy and Bethram

DS doesn’t have a middle name so when he was in reception he decided that his middle names should be Millicent Helicopter 😂.

These names are hilarious. DS had a toy soldier he named Agronster.

I had a brown and black fluffy dog as a child, I named it brown black flufettte! Or fluffy for short lol

DD had a school friend with a younger sibling called Bitsa. I never did work out what Bitsa was short for.

When he was three my medium child would go up to strangers and rather threateningly present his tummy and say ‘see my baby?’ And when they copped on he would up the ante and go ‘KISS MY BABY’ and of course no one would do it. In the end they had to give him chips or something to get him to go away. Lassie was a small yellow baby who went to a dangerous shop and died.
My daughter has a child called Mr Spagetti and he has a child called mr Spagetti 2. She doesn’t like Mr Spagetti and doesn’t care if he plays with scorpions but Mr Spagetti 2 ironically has a better parent and is often given baths. But in the pond with the koi fish called princess sumo

I had a doll called Horace for exactly the same reason.

I had a pink handmade doll when I was little , I had this doll from 4 to when it was eventually lost in my late teens , its name was frank , my Nan had this dolly made for me and I named it after my grandad 😂, also my first female hamster was called Charles ,
i know it’s not toys but my daughter had a fish tank with fish when she was 8 they were all different variations of gold fish , named goldie , sparkles , bubbles , nemo and Alan 🙈

We have a Grotty Baby here. The baby used to live in the shed so couldn’t come inside as it was ‘grotty,’ but it became loved so much it had a good scrub and a glow up but is still known and proudly introduced as Grotty Baby. At nearly 5 she will not name it anything else.

my youngest still used nigel and pat (they must be about 11 years old now)

but we have strawberry, rainbow and butterfly

Dc2 has a baby doll called "Dangerous Doily" as she preferred the sound of doily to dolly and a horrific massive china doll known as "the Murder doll" thanks to dh voicing his first thought on seeing her. She also has Charlotte 1 through 10 (named after her ballet teacher) and Umbrella and Rubella (Barbie's sisters).

This killed me off 😂

DS aged 3 announced he was naming a teddy bear Smutty.

Not made up but unusual, dd1 aged 2 named a doll Doris. She's 17 now and still has Doris 😍

Eldest DS had a clown doll called Derek Derek. He came everywhere with us! Never did get to the bottom of why he was called Derek Derek!

Step daughter had Halex, calex and shales.

Niece had a doll called luhar

Dd had doll called oceana

Dd had an imaginary husband called wrong which was my absolute fave and so apt!

My DD has Daddy Elsa Bear, Zeranda and Alla

My daughter has two favourite cuddlies one called Fried Egg and the other Tortellini.

Tortellini has some legs I reckon. Little Tortie
